Hi all , i decided to build a guitar amp for my son - 3channel mixer / Pre-amp and 50watt "mono block" which i still had here after 10 years just lying in my garage ......😎
My next project is to repair / restore my Fender amp model: PA135watt .

Are you going to make it Solid state or tube amp?
Chris

Hello Chris , its solid state . It is the old popular "Autona 50watt amp" which i used and pre-amp is transistors with tone controls etc ...The amp performs well with only one 12inch speaker .

Hi Dirk, I did the same thing for my son. Just 4 input mixer and 3 tones. All pre-amps are class a, the mixer has TL072's and with gain change resistors so that he can play with background music from his pc changing the stereo to mono and use 2 guitar players from the same guitar amp.
Best wishes with the project.

When I built a father/son guitar amp, I designed an all octal Fender Champ clone and had him solder it up. He also got to learn how to use a DVM and a scope. Great time.
I used an old Squier cabinet I bought off of craigslist, pulled the old electronics out and punched some holes for tube sockets. I think I had all the parts (including iron) so it was very cheap to make.
He loves it.
