Ahhh...I didn't catch the later posts in that thread. Seems like a bunch of politics to me, but then again, who knows

The remaining parts from Digikey arrived today, which go along with the Blackgate caps that arrived the day before. I spent a long evening putting kits together, and here is the end result:
19 orders will be shipped tomorrow (2 not shown in pic) These packages account for all the orders containing Blackgate capacitors, which were delayed. (had a 3+ week delay for the 4.7uf N and the 1000uf STD caps)
I still have 6 more orders to fill tomorrow (most recent orders). After they are shipped out, I will be completely caught up on the US orders. I am really hoping that the components will arrive to Peter, so that international/canadian orders can all be shipped out soon.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Thanks for the complement. I probably spent about 4-5 hours this evening putting these kits together. As long as I see finished amps out these from these kits that I am mailing out, it will be worth my efforts.
Post some pics of your finished amp!

They have to intercept drugs as well ya know...😉Even though $25 was declared value, the package was still open by customs.
Drugs?? No one cares about drugs...
I think the CIA is worried about a terrorist plot to send matter to Canada so that it will create anti-matter here in the USA. That anti-matter will interact with matter & result in a huge explosion. 😀

Peter Daniel said:One more pic: Global Priority Mail, stamp date Jul 03, Canada Customs issue date Jul 19. Yesterday I almost lost faith in any chances of receiving the big package, to day I think it's still possible.
It is a long time for Air Post... but i do have to say that since USPS & Canada Post got together and put tighter integration on the mail system in US & Canada they have not lost a single parcel (est 5k packages in 2.5 yrs, maybe more)
From what i understand, these packages were probably screaming out to Customs "something is fishy".

Peter, will you be shipping out orders for just boards now or will you wait for the rest of the parts and do everything at once?
/U.
/U.
I can send the boards now. If it's not for resistors and small BG(don't have enough) I would be able to send complete kits. But I think that the second package should be here withing few days. As Dave said, those things don't get lost.
So whoever needs just the boards, email me with more details (previous orders only).

I am very sorry about the mistake in the postal code. I will make sure not to make this mistake again.
I looked into Fedex Ground, which now ships to Canada, and they now seem to be cheaper (2/3 the price of USPS) than the US post office, and say that delivery will be done in 4 days. Anyone here try using this to ship to Canada?

Brian,
are you using the pcb with the gold trace instead of the copper with that bg n caps configuration? i think the company you used to make the pcb have that. since you went all out with the bg n caps? hehe

Gold plating increases the cost quite a bit, and is very expensive in small quantities. I had considered getting some made, but it just wasn't worth the cost.

Brian, I wouldn't sweat the postal code issue much, as I seriously doubt that was the cause for the delay. I think Dave has it right.

Canadian customs agents aren't known for being intelligent and probably spent 3 weeks fighting over who got to claim credit for catching the package full of bomb detonation circuits before they realized what they really had. I think we all must accept that the world has gone terrorism paranoid and adjust our shipping expectations accordingly. I don't believe that you or Peter could have done anything differently to change the outcome.
