Group order of non-inverted LM3875 pc boards? Anyone interested?

From Phase II of the group order, I have gotten most of the domestic US orders shipped out, and have started working on the international orders. For those in the US, you should have received a delivery confirmation number for the USPS Priority.

For the international orders, I will continue working on them tonight and start shipping out tommorrow morning.

I am still taking orders for the basic kits, pcb sets and monoblock upgrade kits on my website here:
http://www.BrianGT.com/order

I haven't gotten any set date of when I will get the resistors for the premium kits, but once I obtain them, I will start taking orders for them again.

Brian,

I am interested in ordering a set of your boards. I have some special circumstances....and I have tried to use the e-mail button twice, but I haven't gotten a reply from you yet. Can you please send me an e-mail, so that we can work something out?

Thanks!
-Jeff

I am waiting on the parts for the premium kits, and hopefully should have them soon.

I didn't get your previous e-mails, but I did get your mail today, that I received after I sent you on earlier. I will send you a reply to it in a little bit.

Brian is on a field trip and be back on Tuesday. I believe the kits offer is not over yet😉

This is correct. I am visiting my grandparents in Florida, and will be home last Monday night. I am using dialup now, but probably won't be back on again until Monday night, or Tuesday.

Again, I am still taking orders ( http://www.briangt.com/order ), and have over half of the orders received for Phase II shipped out, and will continue shipping them out when I get home. I will try to get the rest shipped by the end of this next week.

I am new here, I found diyaudio.com while searching gainclone. I am very impressed with all of the talented people posting via this thread.

Brian, I am also looking forward to purchasing a few of your Premium kits.

Just wondering has anyone here built a surround sound system around the gainclone? I would love to use my DSP-A1 as the front end to five gainclone channels and I haven't even heard one channel yet! 😀

I placed my orders and am in the process of sourcing the needed additional components. I don't have access to a wide variety of transformers. I can buy Hammond toroids and have two questions regarding them.

1. Do I need to look at the Parallel or Series secondary VAC to use dual secondaries? One example is a 225 VA transformer that has 44 V ct @ 5.11 A when connected in Series and 22 V @ 10.22 when connected in Parallel. I know 22 V is OK and 44 V too much. Is this transformer adequate?

2. Asumming the answer to the first question is that I need to look at the Parallel voltage I have two choices. The first is a 24V 500 VA one and the second is a 22V 225 A. Which one do you recommend? I understand that 500 VA should be better than 225 VA except that it may be mechanically noisier (and about 50% more expensive). Am I right?

Thanks a lot

You are right- you look at the "parallel" voltages although you don't hook them up in parallel. MAybe better said, you look at the volts of one of the secondaries.

22 or 24 is fine. From what people around here have said, the 22v , 225VA one would be just about perfect.

225VA would be quite adequate for two channels. If you can find a transformer with a VA rating around 225, but a slightly higher (25-30V, but no higher), will be able to get more output power out of your amps. However, if that is not a concern to you, or you can't find such a transformer, then stick with the 22V, 225VA one. If you are using a center-tapped transformer, however, rather than one with dual secondaries, you need to search through the gainclone building thread to find the proper way(s) to wire a CT transformer. A couple of people have done it different ways, but that Brian originally suggested works fine for me.

Ping: Brian...

Hi Brian,

I am interested in purchasing an amp kit and have a couple of questions.

Do I need to do anything other than going to the web link and ordering through PayPal?

Assuming that you are still taking orders for this run, how long would it take to fill an order placed now for the basic kit?

Thanks a lot,

Paul
