Group Buy: Linear Systems LSK389 / LSK170 JFETs (i.e. Toshiba 2sk389/2sk170 subs)

Hi Marc,

I'd like 1 group in the high Idss category please. Apparently the high Idss 170's can be used in the HV Shunt reg instead of the LSK389.

Thanks.

yes, I'm on that group buy as well 🙂 What is the current requirements and how much power is dissipated from the devices? I'll see what I can do to supply people, as so far all my requests have been from the lower Idss grades. Also, note that I was measuring off a battery, not the 10v supply that is used according to the datasheet to sort the devices. I think that would imply that my readings are a bit on the high side? I'm sure AndrewT can comment. In general, these devices run "higher" per Idss class than the Toshiba devices, from what I'm seeing, but so far I've just attributed this to my somewhat low-tech measuring.

assuming everyone comes through who has requested devices comes through, I only have 6 sets remaining. Idss from 15mA-19.5mA.
Hi,

How many devices are in one set? I ordered 5 boards from the HV shunt regular GB which means i will need equivalent of 10 LSK389 which implies a minimum of high idss 170's as I will need to matching them up? Can I sweep all 6 sets 🙂

Thanks,

Or is the LSK389 a exact substitute for 2SK389 ? [/B]

are there any exact substitutes in this hobby? 🙂 I've compared them a bit.. seems the Linear devices have a bit less noise... other than that, it's very hard to pass judgment. I think I hear one thing, and then I switch back and hear something else... They are close enough that I don't know what really to believe 🙂

Good to know is hard to find diferences between them.
Intersting to know that LSK389 has less noise, too !

Once more, thanks!
