well, I haven't gotten the monitor yet but it moves up on my list, before the Viewsonic VE500 was at the top, 400:1 contrast and 16 ms response time, but its a little more expensive and I don't know if its easy to take apart. Its going to be 1 or 2 more paychecks before I commit to a monitor, but this is in first place right now due to the price and specs! I also looked at the DIY Labs website and figured I can cut my own enclosure but buy the 50000 fresnel lens and the triple lens, and the 250 watt HQI metal halide from DIY Labs. If anyone sees anything wrong with this display please tell me, because its generic and other than how it fits with the controller (which I will find out, for the good of the forums!) I don't see any obstacles towards making my own projector. Please feel free to correct me on any issues with this display.
Well, i just did one better and bought the cmv 1515 (win monitor is cmv1512). The cmv 1515 was only $11 more and came with free usps shipping. It has a much better responce time at 15 ms, and the contrast is 500:1. This seems to be a much better choice than the other one at only a few dollors more. Lol... i dont what what i'll do with the 1 watt speakers 😀.

WOW Verbose, I didn't even see that one. Thats a much better deal! Now the 1515 is at the top of my list. I'll probably get it shortly also. Make sure U post the results i'm really interested in hearing about it.
You should wait untill it arrives here and i can test it out... I will post a full review on it. I dont want two of us to get screwed out of $240 bucks if we dont have to.
CMV 1515
Hey everybody, my first post w00t!
I too just bought the CMV 1515, UPS is probably drop-kicking it to my house as we speak 🙂
I'll be taking some pix of the mods I do to this monitor for the enlightenment of all.
I researched this monitor thoroughly and it was reviewed very highly...can't wait!
I also picked up a DF 12.2" fresnel & objective lens triplet (DIYLabs..hurry up Alan!), and a big ol' MH400U, ballast and socket (1000bulbs.com). Total costs for all of this crap is $400, shipping included. I like that figure because that is the cost to replace the bulb in a commercial lcd projector!
MH400U is $16! 😉
I might have a possible easy solution to the vexing FFC cable extension problem, more soon. (Don't yet know if this is an issue with the CMV 1515, fingers crossed).
peace.

Well i found it and i was first to Buy it
! LOL. JK. Good job. You seem to know what your doing (been reading the forum alot). I hope this monitor works out for both of us. If there are ribbon cables in the way, I'm farly confident that some custom extenders could be made/found (digikey). If not, its a bitch to extend them, but it has been done.
Good Luck.

Good Luck.
Actually, I bought it a week ago
And I've been looking at it for over a month! 😎
So I found it first!

Also 1024x768 line doublers for $68 (with remote!) here: http://www.audioexchange.com/kworexlcdtvb.html
They also have VGA extension cables, 15' for $6

Thanks,

I noticed there were no more either since last week. They must have got bombarded with orders after everyone heard the CMV1515 works as a projector. I think I grabbed the last one. Sorry kiddos.

I'm new here but just wanted to let every one know that I tried to purchase one of the cmv1515's but could not find it on the ms4me web site. I emailed them and they said the monitor was discontinued and that they would not be selling them any more. I have found other sites that sell this monitor but most of them were in Australia. I have not found one the in US. I have seen this monitor go as the polyview 1515 and the cmv1515. If any one can find where they still sale these that would be great.
bummer
I'm going to research getting this monitor for everyone. I found them by the 'container' full, some 20,000 lbs of monitors you have to buy from Asia. A little too pricey for my budget. 😱
When I originally posted about this monitor, I had no idea they would be gone so quick...more soon....
