Last night I successfully installed the new version of the M-Audio Transit driver in my Toshiba A125 laptop running Windows Home Vista.
The soundcard obviously worked with wave sound.
The mixer now has only one setting for the driver. There is no separate "line in" or "recording".
However, I couldn't get Speaker Workshop to work with it. Same jig and set up were used in another desktop computer without problem. When generating the test.nl.r, it just came up with noise. Expecting signals from 25k to 32k, I got max=15. All options in SW and the device driver had been explored.
Bad lucks came at the same time. After I did a complete set of impedance measurement with fantastic results and was about to do acoustic measurement, my desktop PC went down. My PC service man told me I had to replace the motherboard which had a built-in sound card.
I will see if SW works with the new motherboard and sound card.
Are there anybody who had success with M-Audio Transit on a Toshiba and Home Vista?
Regards,
Bill

I use M-Audio Transit with Toshiba Tecra Laptop running XP. SW works fine.
Just a quick update, after a few issues with the M-Audio installer, the Transit is now up and running with no problems in SE.
I'm curious what all of you M-Audio Transit users are setting in the sound card properties.
2 in 2 out 48kHz 24 bit
or
2 in 2 out 48kHz 16 bit
or
2 in 0 out 96kHz and another sound card for output
(does SE even support 24 bit?)
How about latency? Have you had to adjust it? how would latency settings on the Transit affect soundeasy when measuring?

Another question... what version of Soundeasy are you guys using?
It's come to my attention that newer versions are updated to function better with USB soundcards, which is the type of soundcard that I'll need to use if I buy a lap top.
I believe that the version I'm running is verson 12, though I'll need to double check.

I have ran V11 and V13, V14 with the TRANSIT using 16 bit. No latency issues. Actually the PRAXIS site has a good explanation on how to setup TRANSIT for measurements which works well with SE too.
And I had nothing but issues with pre-V14 and the Transit, so go figure. I did use the suggestions from the Praxis site but that didn't help. George you must have got lucky with the right mobo/chipset combo that worked well. Anyway V14 fixed all that so no worries.
y8s> 2in 2out, 48khz 16bit
You'll have to check which latencies work well consistently. I've found that anything but very low or low works well.

I meant interchannel latencies here. The latency setting for Maudio is as what augerpro said. I also turn off/deinstall network devices/drivers. They seemed to interfere with measurements and playback causing breaks during playback.soongsc said:I have ran V11 and V13, V14 with the TRANSIT using 16 bit. No latency issues.
