A good and reliable PA amplifier is something you buy.
You have Crown, QSC, Behringer and others.

Did you mean that there is no good and reliable amplifier to diy in this diyaudio forum
Is the intended use a real on stage PA rig or a casual home stereo system ?
If the latter, any diy amp will do just fine, but for a on stage PA rig, buying a professional amp is the way to go.

A permanent install such as in a church is no place for a diy amplifier, if the amp fails and burns down the building, the insurance company will do nothing because the amp was diy, instead you could end up in jail.
Instead look for a PA amp made by a well known company with good reputation such as QSC, Crown or Behringer.

My church is not thatched roof to burn
Ask yourself how much it would cost you to build a PA amp, and how much it would cost to buy.
(aka don't spend a thousand dollars on an amp for a 500 buck loudspeaker)

Since it is considered a permanent install, i do strongly discourage building the amp yourself. Real PA amps have been thoroughly tested and thrown off the factory roof to ensure reliability and dependability.
Diying an amp is easy, but diying a amp that is dependable and reliable under the kinda conditions you have in a PA rig is very hard.

Best bet would be a good used Stage Amp from Cash Convertors.
Stage Amps are designed to be durable and virtually bomb proof.

KLR Series Amplifiers from Ashly Audio is one I strongly recommend. The KLR 2000 is $600 street price. Ashly has the lowest failure rate of any pro sound products based on my records. Decent sound and build quality. Contract rider friendly if rental is any concern.
