Hmm. Twelve pages of gossip and no mention of commercially available recommendations for TRUE 75 ohm BNCs. It was mentioned that some were sold as 75 ohm, but are not true 75 ohm. It's just that they mate to 75 ohm cable. The contruction between 75 and 50 is clear, but it's often hard to see in the brochures and catalogs to verify.
I'm looking for a true 75 ohm female panel mount. Any good commercially available recommendations?
Also, looking to use 75 ohm coax between jack and coax. Is solder connection to jack better than BNC female on the inside of the panel?

Is anyone familiar with TRUE 75 ohm bulkhead jacks that are easy to mount in a chassis so they won't turn? The recessed ones look like they only need a round hole punched. I see in the Markertek catalog that they have Canare, Neutrik, and Switchcraft versions of these. I'd rather not go the recessed route, but would if it was the best solution. I know some of the bulkhead jacks need double-D holes, so they are out, since I don't intend to purchase such a punch for only a few jacks. Are there any bulkhead jacks that use a simple round hole that have a good arrangement to prevent the jack from turning in the hole? It's really hard to find some of these details, even from manufacture website data. If not, the recessed jacks look like the answer.
FWIW, Trompeter makes a gold flashed 75-ohm BNC with gold plated center pin in their video broadcast line, said to have the lowest return loss in the industry

Just get the Canare BNC heads from Markertek. They are true 75ohm and can do GHz. They are simply the best, gold plated or not. Many very high end DACs such as Zanden use them. You can also get the plastic washers which will improve the turning problem a little.

You are likely speaking of the jacks here. The Canares are certainly good enough for DAC use, since DACs use relatively low frequencies. I'm leaning to the recessed ones, because they use simpler round holes. But they take up a lot of room if trying to modify an already crowded panel.
As to plugs, the Trompeter look to be a better choice for HDTV frequencies and video cable use. These are also available at Markertek.
