Might be, partial midbass covering is used in a number of line-arrays, but mostly as an extension of the compression drivers horn.
im interested because geithain is definitely one of the most reknown speakers for mixing purpose. real transparent, and its the only company that has done this. so there design definitely works..

Ok, I watched without sound so I didn't know that, but I have seen an acoustic crossover done that way, without the tweeter.

They seem to have it arranged like that to allow the same tweeter mounting plate be used in their single, dual and triple tweeter arrays without having to make too many changes in their parts for cost control.
The single tweeter mounted offset helps with diffraction as opposed to a center mount.
