Boards and Edco's for me via Paypal please🙂
I will send out private messages tomorrow with billing details etc.
The crux of it will be, if you want the Power supply boards to go along with it, or transformers, the shipping will be a bit higher, and somewhat more so for international buyers. Although I am generally a bit socialist with shipping trying to get everyone to pay about the same. So I am trying to offset it a bit at least with the american buyers paying a bit more, but only to a limit. I dont think it's fair or good business to get a local person to pay 18 - 24 bucks for shipping.
But I will use some 200lb 11 x 6 x 4 boxes that can carry a lot, but once you throw the power supply boards in them, things go up a lot. And international packages are usually 20-30 percent more than my standard flats. No flats when transformers are involved!!

I am still going to maybe wait a bit more before payment starts. I am considering still an optional part(s) if I can get it. There is a reason why. But it will take me more time to explore.
On another note, I did play with shielding yesterday, but found the best outcome was using shielded wire instead. I used Mogami W2330 and then the amp was silent, transformer covers or not.

Shielded input cable?
I signed up for 1 pair M-2 boards, 1 pair edcor transformers and 2 power supply boards. Those are the same 2 power supply boards I talked to you about. If possible, I need to get 1 power supply board asap for the M-2 I am currently building, the other can wait for the M-2 boards and transformers.
Thanks,

Thanks,

Russellc I sent a paypal request to you earlier. Did you not get it.
I can knock the Invoice down to 1 Power supply. Please PM with your current Paypal address and I adjust the order.

How much for shipping to Sweden for 2 transformers?
you only need transformers?
Yes,I have the boards from another GB.
What does "Harris" next to the mosfets stand for?
Unhappy with the inherent distortion of IRF9240 MOSFETs, I am going to use offer a NOS Harris IRFP9240 as a substitute.
You will note in the 6moons article on the M2, that the Fairchilds are used. Since they are rare as 'hens teeth', this seemed a practical alternative.
Previous qoute from np.
"The sound of the IRFP9240 has an artifact. If you place
emphasis on measurements, then you would not use the
IRFP9240. I personally don't care for it when the device
is used in common-source mode.
Comparisons between it and the Harris and Fairchild
equivalents in common-drain mode, particularly in
balanced circuits reveal a subtle warmth that is preferred
by a percentage of listeners."
Note however that the M2 is a common drain design or source follower.
The gain is in the transformer. If I am not mistaken in details.
Ryussen, will try to get you a shipping qoute via PM later.
I will look and see if I have a spare one. But only for you, since you have a prototype on your hands!
Thanks, and I do not need the rectifier bridge boards...You had said there were none and I am using block rectifier bridges on this amp.

I found some extra PS boards,
They all have diode boards included with them.
I even have extra seperate diode boards as well.

very cool!
My 4U deluxe chassis, anti vibration feet, milled handles and back panel kit are on the way!
Thanks for your efforts!

Myself and Peter Daniels, who put me onto this "artifact" are apparently in that group. He brought this up to me when I inquired to him about that distortion back when I built the F-5. While others complained of "thinness" "brightness", etc, I never did. I guess I will update and add the harris units and see. Going to the spread sheet now. I already have the other parts, I guess I can compare.
P.S. Ok I added a stereo set of Harris outputs...2+2=4 (stereo set)

Do you by chance have 2SK170BL / 2SJ74BLs available? If not, does anyone have a recommended source for them? Also, do they need to be match and across the N/P channels?
Diystore has the Linear System versions (matched within N and P but not across) available. Real Toshibas will be hard to find.Do you by chance have 2SK170BL / 2SJ74BLs available? If not, does anyone have a recommended source for them? Also, do they need to be match and across the N/P channels?
ALso check here for Toshibas: http://www.fetaudio.com/

Correct, I have no 2SK/2SJ JFETs for sale.
HiFibluedevils recommendations are sound ones.

Yes, I swapped them out for the Harris, the brightness is present with the Vishay IRFP9240s, and not so with the Harris IRFP9240s. Its a tad mellower and to my liking. Previous it was a bit shrill. What was good is that R7 remains at 52.3k, I did not need to swap! My ears seem to remain sensitive to certain part swaps (its a blessing and a curse). Gate resistors, input resistors and shunt resistors all make a difference to me, and flavor of FETs as well.
