GB for DC coupled B1 buffer with shunt PSUs

With space for two caps you'll have more than you need at any rate.

IIRC Salas was recommending something around 3000uF but people have gone a lot higher than that in some builds. As always - the more the merrier 🙂

That reminds me though, the threads for the CDB1 are quite lengthy and discus different variations. Is there a full schematic+BOM somewhere as a reference? And if not, let's make one as a guideline and put it somewhere visible. I for one don't know the full list of materials just yet ...

The older blog entry I have for DCB1 has a BOM entry and the basic schematic's. I'd rather not add it to the current blog entry. I could make a seperate one with schematic's and a smaller BOM at some point.

The BOM (4.3?) itself could use some tidying up, as the Mesmerize is not a current option.
It of course it is a BOM for guidance. People can order what they want for the most part.

start a thread/blog for DCB1blue.
This needs it's own BOM with options.
It is specifically designed to be flexible in components values and types.
It is specifically intended for higher current.
It deserves it's own space, but it must be kept clear of DCB1black to avoid complete confusion.

I still haven't a lot of feedback on the type of resistor pack's people might be interested in.
This would be a resistor pack for the B1 portion. 220R x4, 220K x 2, 1M X 2.
PRP would be about 4.00 a set.
Takman Rex would be about 6.00 a set. I am not sure the Rex would be available for certain. Stock was iffy last time, and I had to go through several vendors to cobble it all up. The rex was quite popular last run, although in this pre in my system, I didn't care for them.

Of course there are other choices we would do. Caddocks, Texas Instrument's and the like, but the cost jumps sky high.

The only name I know here is Caddock, plus my view on quality of resistors is that they're all good, as long as they aren't some total piece of junk that will deteriorate in no time. 6 per set is nothing compared to all other items. How much would Caddocks cost? Double? Triple?

I'd sign up for good signal resistors, since I intend to make this pre top-notch, so I'd avoid my by-the-kilo bag of resistors, even though there's absolutely nothing wrong with them.

Some entirely over the top options to consider. None of these resistors fit 'nicely' into the board. a bit akward.

Caddock Mk132,
$40usd for 4x220r 2x 220k, 2x 1m. :$::$:

texas instruments
4x tx2575 220r 40.00usd, 2x tx2532 220k 68.00usd 1M n/a :$::$::$::$::$:

4x tx2575 220r + 2x Caddock Mk132 220K + 2x MK132 1M 63.00USD :$::$::$:

Oh ... wow ...

Ok, so nothing as fancy as that 🙂 I want it good, but not worth its weight in gold.

Gold is probably cheaper

PRP resistors. They are extremely cheap and get lots of praise. Designed for audio. I personally prefer them to the Shikoh and Takman carbon I've tried.

I think the PRP are a real good value, and sound detailed and honest.

Still looking for additional input here.
