GB for DC coupled B1 buffer with shunt PSUs

A few people have asked about the resistor options, and here is my opinion and thoughts.
I am no master builder, I am just like you. But my ears are okay agianst audiophiles and concur with them and even some audio reviewers that are local.

I find the PRP resistors in the signal path offer greater clarity without brightness, harshness in a given system. I use them a bit and recommend them. I have limited exposure to Takeman resistors, but continue to play with a few of them in different circuits. In the 1k position in a normal B1, they actually seemed to be a bit tizzy and accentuate the treble. They don't sound like rikens to me. They are resolving as PRP.
I tried the KOA speers (like Kiwame's) in the 220r position and found them to be too relaxed for my taste. Think the difference between and F4 and F5 if you've heard them both. I prefer the F5 house sound for instance. Greater clarity etc. I dont have much trouble hearing 15-20k, so I dont want to accentuate it.

The DCB1 by itself (regardless of resistors I would propose) is not edgy at all, but transparent. Playing with the resistors will play with the sonic signature a bit, but any method will not be that bad. Lowering the CCS resistors (2x 68r) will give you a bit more body tone (think loudness button of past) but it's a small amount not large IMO.

Plenty of people are ordering the Takman resistors, so they must know they are a good value and sound.

I hope some others chime in here or on builders thread with differences.

Hello all

Well, with the the holidays now over, I'm returning to DCB1 and I would like to finally start building the Hyptonize and Mezmorize boards that I received in the round one group buy.

But, at this moment I cant seem to find any documentation in terms of a schematic, a BOM and maybe any updates.

The thread is now up to 161 pages and I did use the search feature.

Can someone point me to the right place?

Thanks much

Regards

Curt
