Two years ago - in luvdunhill's groupbuy, the prices were $0.25 for TO-220 and $0.76 for TO-247 pads (factory cut, minimum order quantity: 1000).

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/grou...herm-red-isolators-220-247-a.html#post1827190

I would like to know whether the price has changed since. I also wonder why Phil hasn't given any prices for option A by himself - maybe he would earn more for his company if they would do the cutting on their own (option B).
I wonder why there was no quote for option A. It must be my communication ....
From what I understand, option B is really a combo of MH&W sells the sheet and a local shop does the cutting. Maybe I sounded like unable to meet the minimum quota.
Anyhow, I sent my inquiry for the factory cut this morning. Let see I will get some quote back to report.
Thanks for pursuit price quote from your end.

Quote from German Kerafol distributor

Hi,

here is the quote from the German Kerafol distributor. I asked for precut pads as bought in luvdunhill's previous group buy (for available sizes & description see the attached .pdf-file) and for the 86/83 foil type.

Terms:
Minimum order quantity: 500 (if we would require more: additional pads are sold in multiples of 100).

prepayment required.

lead time: six weeks upon receipt of order & payment.

Prices:
500 pads of TO-220-3 (size 18x12x0,25mm): €84,50; each 100 additional €16,90.

500 pads of TO-247-2 (size 32x23x0,25mm): €277,50; each 100 additional €55,50.

To these prices, 19% VAT will be charged additionally. Now the price for a single pad can be calculated:

TO-220:
€84,50 + €16,06 VAT = €100,56 per 500 pads: €0,2011 or €0,21 for each pad.

TO-247:
€277,50 + 52,73 VAT = €330,23 per 500 pads: €0,6605 or €0,67 for each pad.

I didn't yet receive a quote for delivery charges. This is maybe hidden somewhere on the distributor's website.

Replied from Phil (notice the TO-220-4 is slightly wider):

Hi Fred,

Here is the factory pricing:

1000 TO-247-2 at $ 1.06 ea = $1060

1000 TO-220-4 at $0.34 ea. = $ 340

Total $1400.00

Keep in mind option C below (500 mm x 1 meter) at $539.93.

Delivery is 4-6 week.

Best regards,

Phil

Thanks!!

Hi,

here is the amended quote from the German Kerafol distributor. I asked for precut pads as bought in luvdunhill's previous group buy, for the TO-220 size suggested by @ashaw and for the size for which @pchw has also requested a quote (for available sizes & description see .pdf-file attached to post #107 ) and for the 86/83 foil type.

Terms:
Minimum order quantity: 500 (if we would require more: additional pads are sold in multiples of 100).

prepayment required.

lead time: six weeks upon receipt of order & payment.

Prices:
500 pads of TO-220-2 (size 19x14x0,25mm): €109,00; each 100 additional €21,80.

500 pads of TO-220-3 (size 18x12x0,25mm): €84,50; each 100 additional €16,90.

500 pads of TO-220-4 (size 18x13x0,25mm): €78,00; each 100 additional €15,60.

500 pads of TO-247-2 (size 32x23x0,25mm): €277,50; each 100 additional €55,50.

To these prices, 19% VAT will be charged additionally. Now the price for a single pad can be calculated:

TO-220-2 (suggested by ashaw):
€109,00 + €20,71 VAT = €129,71 per 500 pads: €0,2594 or €0,26 for each pad.

TO-220-3 (was sold in luvdunhill's groupbuy):
€84,50 + €16,06 VAT = €100,56 per 500 pads: €0,2011 or €0,21 for each pad.

TO-220-4 (pchw has also a quote for it)
€78,00 + 14,82 VAT = 92,82 per 500 pads: €0,1856 or €0,19 for each pad.

TO-247-2 (was sold in luvdunhill's group buy; pchw has also a quote for it):
€277,50 + 52,73 VAT = €330,23 per 500 pads: €0,6605 or €0,67 for each pad.

Delivery charges: €7,90 per shipment, regardless of order size.

It seems odd that TO-220-4 is less than TO-220-3, even though it is larger. Looks like the best value.

Hi all GB participants,

Zhou has replied me, so I am going to close the GB very soon.
I plan to close at Aug 9, 2011 12am PST. Then I will place the order to Zhou.
Sorry for such short notice. The reason is that I will have to leave my house
for a few days ........ no worry not for financial reason🙂

Here are the total as of 10 mins ago:
FETS: 42 sets => 84 pairs of N/P.
TO247-2 : 556
TO220-4: 694

I am going to order the FETS and the TO247-2 from Zhou as he ships free for such order size, and it also simplifies my work to track order from various sources. For TO220-4, we can order from Europe or US distributor (which doesn't have the best price), but at the end, it may only mean a few dollar for many. So, it probably doesn't matter that much.

I added pricing to the spreadsheet:
1. Patrick had 80% matching rate from the last GB. I plan to order
120 N/P pairs to ensure the first 42 sets (assume all confirm 🙂)
will be reasonably well matched.
It will be $14 for one set of MOSFETS
2. TO247-2, $1
3. TO220-4, $0.34 (This is the MH&W quote, and I will absorb any
extra cost such as sales tax and shipping.)
All prices are before Paypal fee and shipping.

I don't need anyone to pay me, but I do need your confirmation for
some realistic counts.
I added 3 new "confirm" columns to each the item. Please fill it in
if you are sure you won't make fun of Fred 🙂

Please post if there is any question.

Thanks!!

Hi Fred,
thanks for proceeding with this GB. I have two questions:

- Should we only enter the word "confirmed" in the relevant column or should we also calculate the totals and complete these columns, too? You might have reserved the "total" columns for your final price including PayPal fees.

- I haven't yet ordered any pads. Is it still possible to order some? I assume yes, since the MOQ is 1000.

Is a set still comprised of two of each type? The info on the google sheet suggest two pairs is a set and above it seems that you are saying one pair is a set.
Sorry for the confusion. Let me try to clarify.
One set is 4 FETs, 2 pairs, for one stereo F5X.
Zhou's order unit is one N/P pair. I plan to order 120 pairs which amount to 60 quads, assuming 80% matching yield, we shall have 48 match sets. So, the first 42 sets should be in good shape.

I hope this explanation helps, if not, I will try again.

Thanks!!
