That was just an image off the net. I had a supply of old connectors like those until I wired up three different cartridges in three different headshells for my Garrard SP25 Mk II turntables. If I remember correctly, I had to squeeze the connectors shut a bit to fit tightly.
The modern, gold plated ones at auction have the split, but state 1.2 mm, or 1.3 mm at a tight fit. I don't know how successfully they could be opened up and still grip the cartridge pins tightly.
