This's my picture and result from trimming IRFP264 VGS, I like VGS 3.4V with mini crossover distrotion from quasi complementary circuit but when I measured with oscilloscope I don't like its graph !
Then I trimming IRFP264 VGS to 3.66V its curve is very well on +/- sine junction but it was damage and burnt after I only run on 1 minute !!!
My question is "If I want to use VGS 4V or more with BUZ901, Could I trimming much more than 4V ?"

Very interesting graphs. Are there a complete circuit of your evaluation set? Which values the source resistance and the VDS in this case?

"Push-Pull" for push und "Push-Pull" for pull (like Gamnut) - whats the right name?

I can't resist low-hanging fruit, and the Vgs question qualifies.

On the other hand, poking fun at Gamut is easy, but not polite.

I start this topic. At post #1 you will find the simplefield schematic.
Perhaps you know more about the concerning patent to this topology resp. the colloquial term - thank you very much

The MOSFETs are in a SOT-227 package and could be

FB180SA10 - n channel

Vgs(on) = 2 to 4 v

Idss(max) = 120 A
Rds = 0.0065 ohms (that's not a typo)
Gms = 93 S

but

Ciss = 10700 pF
Qg(on) = 360 nC

IXTN 170 P10P - p channel

Vgs(on) = 2 to 4 v
Rds(on) = 0.012 ohms
Idss(max) 170 A
Gms = 58 S

but Ciss = 12,600 pF
and Qg(on) = 240nC

These are switching MOSFET's just like a IRFP240 and IRFP9240
but the gate capacitance is typically 9 times higher.
and the transconductance is more than a magnitude higher.

I prototyped an aleph using the FB 180SA10 using PNP BJT to drive them,
like a 2n3906 and 2n5087.

Driving them with a a jFET j177 gave softer sound.

The sonics were heaven, but the power dissipation of a class A amp was too much.

I'm wondering if an F5 could be modded to accommodate these power MOSFET's.

I think you guys have read this: http://www.gamutaudio.com/faq.htm
Answers some questions.
And, as having reviewed a D200 in 2000 or 2001, I remember one thing for sure: it certainly is not a PWM amplifier. And: Ole Lund Christensen told me that the use of large single power MosFets as output stage is vital for this amp.
I don't understand the marked term. What means this for the audible sonic result ?
URL is death in the meantime. Follow URL helps:

I have just heard the Gamut 200i -amp,-not impressed.
It was returned to the dealer.
The PassLabs X-350,5 is better, so is Plinius 103, and several of my DIY-amps...incl. Hypex UcD400
(on Tannoy Canterbury (Prestige) speakers).

Gamut M200

Hi, I am new to this forum and would only times welcome all warmly.
Furthermore, I have great interest in the Gamut M200 I would appreciate
Help delighted. I desperately need the circuit diagrams and parts lists of the amplifier.
And any help you can give me.
Best Regards
laisses

Hi there, I realise this an old post, but I’ve got an old D200mk1 and it’s just been in for a service and the power supply’s were on their last legs and the rest of the PCB is testing poorly- I’m trying to contact Gamut about getting the mk3 PCBs as replacements but they haven’t got back to me (2 weeks ago now) is there anyone here who can get me originals or clones - the engineer said the amp is dead otherwise which seems so wasteful and it’s a sweet sounding amp - plus I can’t afford to replace it... fingers crossed someone can help Best Dave

US Component list stock. N type Mosfet are you going to need its P type compliment? Not familiar with the Gamut output stage.
I have a reply from Us components, they have them but i need a photo to compare so i know they are the real thing. I thing the Mosfets are identical in each channel, i ll have to ask the repair man, i am not doing the repair myself , i am the owner , the technician is unable to find the parts so i am searching...

Pretty sure you are going to need N type and P type on of each on each side of the amp. your tech needs to research this further.
Thank you for the insight, i ve just asked him, he is actually the former reseller and authorized Gamut tech, so he know his stuff. Actually he has put his own D200 Mosfets into mine to test but we need a new pair...He answered Mosfets are the same.

Yes I just researched both N type. I too have a D200i still in working condition its a shame Gamut stop manufacturing amps in my opinion best sounding SS amp. Can you please PM me your repair guys info like to have it on hand if I every need if you get you hands on some output device's let me now I will purchase a quad just in case. Thanks
