Back to insults. Since Syn08 is gone, you don't really fill his shoes but you seem to want his spot in Bonsai's graphic. Here you go then:"fairy tales"
Avoiding any relevant answers? I see.
I didn’t ask for any link. I didn’t ask for double blind test.
Are you confusing me with some other member?
Link to “Psychology for dummies” is not in demand.
??You ask for a link, which I provide, and you can read it for yourself.
You ask for double blind, then pretend it never happened.

About bybee or network switch?I only pointed out information that is scientific and available to anyone.

Since Bonsai did not place my nick on that graph you should remove it or name this your own graph.Back to insults. Since Syn08 is gone, you don't really fill his shoes but you seem to want his spot in Bonsai's graphic. Here you go then:
Besides it was not me who "insulted" you this time. Now that is what I would call "jumping to conclusions".

That graph is voluntary and subjective impression of one member on some other members.Back to insults. Since Syn08 is gone, you don't really fill his shoes but you seem to want his spot in Bonsai's graphic. Here you go then:
It is by no means scientific evaluation. You could stop flooding threads with that when challenged.
BTW, it is a loss to this forum that Syn08 is banned. Yes, he was guilty for harsh words but his contribution with real projects, not tales, was large.

Not "when challenged" but when out of any sensible arguments.... stop flooding threads with that when challenged.
I can't call the graphic mine, I merely updated a spot that had become empty. If you don't like recognition, then stop acting like the other guy who got himself banned for that stuff. In fact I would not like to see you banned because you do try to help people at times, and that contributes to making the forum a better place for everyone.Since Bonsai did not place my nick on that graph you should remove it or name this your own graph.
Like I said it was no me who "insulted" you this time. But once again instead of quoting stuff made by others maybe you should try to make something of your own.I can't call the graphic mine, I merely updated a spot that had become empty. Banning members is not up to you.
To bring this thread back on topic, I present more than a worthy bybee companion product: an Orgone generator. If you are catching any negative vibes (feedback) on this forum, immediately acquire one. It is charged with positive intentions and catches all negative energy from around, turning it to positive. All your posts will be immediately liked. 😀
Imagine benefits of putting this on a DAC. Anemic and dull sound will be supercharged with energy, approaching real live performance experience and stunning 3D details.
- ✔Our Energy generator Orgonaite is made on the same technology as Wilhelm Reich’s Orgone Accumulator.
- ✔Orgone pyramid helps to neutralize E-Energy from natural negative vibe that you expose yourself to on a daily basis. The interaction of organic resin and inorganic metal creates orgone.
- ✔Healing Chakra condensed metal matrix that include a combination of quartz crystal and other energy clearing crystals and stones that absorb negative energies and transmutes them into positive forces that stimulate the body to heal itself.
- ✔The crystals and stones have been charged with positive intentions prior to casting. They have also been smudged with energy clearing white sage. Smudging is an ancient Native American tradition used to cleanse negative energy. The Orgonite are infused with harmonic tones during the curing process that help balance the body’s natural frequency.
- ✔Large amounts of positive energy. By simply holding or being near these devices you will feel large amounts of positive energy. This is also known as Chi, Prana, and Zero point energy.

What would happen if you used a low value ferrite bead with a higher value of laminated iron, would the ferrite deal with the high frequencies whilst the laminated iron delt with lower frequencies, stopping the ferrite from saturating ?I use ferrite beads. They keep high frequency hash out of your circuits. They also saturate easily and display significant nonlinearity when they do. Big surprise!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominemProblem I then had is that most of the other engineering managers were like you guys. They didn't want to know the science, they didn't care about it.
Works for Hawkwind.

I tried not to bring that thread up but the cringe level is off the charts.A recent example of these sort of "fairy tales" can be found here:

Well, maybe there was a point to the last 20 or so pages of posts... most ethernet switches do run a version of 'nix after all...I tried not to bring that thread up but the cringe level is off the charts.

Someone claims to hear differences in Linux kernel scheduler settings and claims that the operating system needs to be heavily modified to sound good. No measurements, as is tradition.

The thread starter claims the sonic differences that result from kernel tuning are "obvious" and everything sounds more "rich" and "analog like".

Yep, that's rich. The thread starter claims the sonic differences that result from kernel tuning are "obvious" and everything sounds more "rich" and "analog like".![]()
Sorry - thinking about the claims of an expensive ethernet switch "fixing" audio over ethernetI was referring to the thread that Charlie brought up.

FSM bless you sir, for bringing this increasingly bitchy thread back on topic. Ladies, the clue is in the title: "funniest" ;-)To bring this thread back on topic, I present more than a worthy bybee companion product: an Orgone generator. My digital-as-it-can-be audio rig sounds more natural & transparent than any analog setup I've ever owned. But that's because I've spent dozens & dozens of hours learning how to do stuff like proper quasi-anechoic and in-room response measurements, carefully calibrated active crossovers, judicious application of DSP, and lots of other real-world, objective "tweaks."
Sure, it took a lot of time & effort, but it was fun, and I learned a lot. But most importantly, I only needed to do it ONCE, until I change something in the hardware (which I have no intention of doing any time soon!). It's so nice to sit down, call up some tunes on the server, and enjoy the sensation of the music simply "appearing" in the listening space, night after night, year after year, from Armstrong to Zappa. I can't imagine the stress of this endless tail-chasing of kernel-optimization, DAC rolling, god knows what else, all the while "trusting my ears" - what a nightmare.
Not to mention, I'm still using the "dirty" little DACs in my miniDSP nanoAVRs (see avatar), and all my speaker cable is 16-2 twisted-pair that cost me about 25 cents per foot. 😛
Okay, enough bitching. Speaking of streamers/DACs, I see TAS is reviewing one this month that's apparently a bargain at TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. The article begins:
"Twenty-five grand is a steep but by no means unheard of price for a streaming DAC/preamplifier. In the case of the Metronome DSC, you get your money’s worth." Now that's funny!
I suppose it's a good idea to place it on a piece of newspaper in case any of that snake oil leaks out. ffs...
