You may have noticed that of late, there's a pleasant lack of the usual toxic comments here on AudioStream, something that has taken a bit of moderating and time to accomplish. I say "a bit" because in total I've only had to block the accounts of about eight to ten people in our 4+ years. My hope is this will encourage more of the silent majority to be less silent so we can show people what our hi-fi hobby is really about.

none of my comments were toxic, just differed from the dictators.... 🙂

Funnily enough the commentards then appeared to claim that it needed a month to 'burn in'. Stereophile writers then step into to say long burn in is daft. lol

Yes, I have always been suspicious of claimed long 'burn-in' times....how the hell do you do even sighted AB testing ?....rhetorical question !.

IME there can be effects that take finite time to 'propagate' through the system, but I am talking almost instant for small systems/devices, and ten seconds or so on stadium systems.
My standard procedure when changing home system components/cables is to run the system up to slight clipping, drop volume to mute, power down and then reboot.
I have at least sometimes found changes compared to the initial power up, but no changes after that first volume/power cycling.

Hours/days/weeks/months ?.....Hmmmm.

Dan.
