Alkaline water implies minerals content.....a good thing provided no nasties are included.

I have a friend whom is in to this kind of product. Minerals need to come from a specific place in the ocean. When you then adjust the characteristics in a certain way you can mimic water from different locations.
Drinking water in Los Angeles used to be around pH 7.8 How is the health there compared to the rest of the country? Same?
Drinking water is not the only health related factor.
Very hard to prove, in the UK the hard water area are the richest and many soft water areas are deprived. This affects both lifestyle and medical care qualityI recall having read that places with high calcium water have less heart disease.

It's been posited that the hard water Okinawans drink is loaded with calcium and magnesium, amongst other trace minerals, infused from all the coral in the atolls.
Unlike the traditional Japanese diet, they eat mainly green and yellow vegetables, with small portions of rice, and tiny amounts of fish, while pork is highly prized.
I'm not aware of any studies comparing the effects of such a diet vs a high intake of coral calcium, but the benefits of coral calcium are said to include accelerated bone growth in broken limbs, reversal of a sudden aging (presumably accelerated), better sleep, etc.
Oh, and the average current lifespan there is 110 years.
Could be the water, and the diet.

Birthdays are good for you, the more you have- the longer you live.
Water is bad for you. Everything which drinks water dies.
How can anyone argue with that "logic?"
