Funniest snake oil theories

Well, I "get" Tom Danley - he understands that it's possible to achieve very intense, coherent sound from something very close to a point source - and that works very well indeed, 😉! He also understands that what actually comes out of the loudspeaker's jaws is all that matters, and that if you record that, and play the recording it should sound very close to what you heard the first time round - pretty obvious stuff, really ... 🙂

Personally, I approach this by making sure the electronics work properly - which most of the time is not the case, hence the ongoing thrashing about what to do about it all ...

A formula that has no bearing on the subject, is a formula that has no bearing on the subject, regardless of equation. IER, all we need in this universe for our purposes. Quantum electronics are for another place, we are not there for a while and if we were there the application would not be on existing audio comlonents,

Hmmm ... I see what Dan is talking about ...

"Brown electrons" - from these, perhaps ... Buy the Liberro Electronic Pipe - The best ePipe available |Liberro shop ... ?

Read #4178, they go both ways, the only people not crying are the people hurling insults at each other (though if I compared them to a joust, it would be one with wet lettuce rather than lances).

John throws up little smoke screens hinting at some possible mechanism for the Bybees yet also claims to not know what's in them, though I do believe all electronics stockist stock the basic ingredient's to make your own.
Do you want a BOM😀

Couple of decades ago, a security manager of a 5-star hotel in the A'dam city center drove a bright-red RS Cosworth, second hand car.

Behind the front wheel fenders, he had placed yellow and black horse stickers.
His g/f told me that at home, he had Ferrari parts on wall shelves in the living room.
Stuff he'd ordered at full retail from the dealership service center : headlights, exhaust parts, even an engine hood in full red.
I thought it wiser not to inquire how many dollars a Maranello headlight does.

Goes to show.
i guess those hardcore stickers (bought in tesco?) add at least 50HP😀

Look on the bright side, Steve, at least he didn't scan pages out of an introductory solid state physics textbook and pretend that there was something relevant to audio. That's progress.

This is actually very educational. We're seeing a perfect demonstration on how snake oil is extracted, refined, and sold.

I found this discussion on cable burn in and this has be to the most ridiculous statement I have ever read.

Quote
Do used cables moving to a new system need "break-in"?
We don't call that burn-in preferring to call it "settling time".

If you remove the cable carefully and don't bend it too much the settling period will be very short. A few minutes to a couple of hours.

If you want to experiment, take a cable out of the system and bend it in several places along the cable. Then, if your floor is carpeted, throw the cable to the floor with some force. Then put it back in and listen to it.

Unfortunately, shipping a cable virtually erases burn-in. The settling time for a burned-in cable after shipment is about 5 days - the same as a new cable. Probably because of the extreme coiling of the cable for packing and the vibration of the trucks that transport it. This is one of the reasons we don't pre burn-in cables at the factory.

I always try to align mine parallel with the velocity of the earth relative to the aether.

Guys what you thinks about super-expensive capacitor like Duelund

Worth it or are a snake oil ?

A Successful Trouton-Noble experiment
The Trouton-Noble experiment was intended to detect the motion of the earth through the aether

A pair of sharp cornered foil pieces charged to 70kV, and absolutely no consideration of the electron wind caused by the sharp edges??

What a foolish oversight. Glue a thumbtack to a van de graf and look for the e wind..edit: in fact, glue two tacks to that foil construct, and watch that puppy spin.

Hey, at least he did his work at a Lab. JLN labs.. by Jean-Louis Naudin . what a funny coincidence, he has the same initials...do wonders ever cease?
