Jack and I have such a device. It is NOT made by Jack, but he swears by it. Just yesterday he asked me if I was using the 'device'. I said, that recently I used it it improve a shot of Cognac. He was somewhat disappointed, so I mentioned that I did not have my CD player connected up, so he understood. The difference between Jack and me, and many here, is that we trust our ears, no matter how 'outrageous' the reason for a change in audio quality.
As far as JN is concerned, we just knew that he piled up a whole bunch of criticisms, that have little or no merit, and actually could have been answered by an polite question. He disses everything he doesn't approve of, in advance, despite the evidence presented. Look what he does with Ed Simon's input.

Evidence presented? You've presented nothing.

Look what he does with Ed Simon's input.
You mean, the time he used the wrong inductance measurement and nonetheless stood by readings which were 3 orders of magnitude larger than reality??

And then, I provided the correct inductance measurement range and model that was required, which he used and achieved correct readings.

And then, I personally derived the relevant physics principles involved, drew them up, posted them on this site, performed the actual tests, posted those results, discussed the relevance of the readings.

So again, what "evidence" are you referring to???

"Jack and I laughed" is not scientific evidence. It's evidence of something else, just not scientific...

I would say at this point that the Bybee may be an alien probing device, hence the mystery surrounding it, the secret nature of its origins and now I believe its power over test and measurement equipment, where it goes into stealth mode and morphs into a low value resistor.
This would also account for the lingering odour of BS that does seam to permeate any information regarding theses marvellous devices.

Apparently your myopia is getting the best of you , you can buy Bybee's , those who have them hear a difference, you can buy one and "probe" them yourself . The question or issue at hand is not if the Bybee bullets makes à difference is why !

Apparently none involve knows why or are not willing to explain and unlike alien probings you can choose not to participate ...

I do not buy things that are obviously fake, especially electronic components, I don't do magic or emperors new clothes. The reason why there is no explanation is because there is no substance to the device other than a resistor covered in ERS cloth and a bit of shrink wrap...

And then there is the interpretation thereof. Harmonic distortion is a good example. Measurement showing say, .001% HD, doesn't mean much unless we know the distribution of the 1st, 2nd, etc harmonics and the weighting we must give them.

is the subjectivists' standard strawman - go to the Audio Precision site - read the papers, manuals of their latest instruments - that is much closer to the "standard measurements" used by "conventional engineers" wringing out a new design during product development

today's standards of measurement will generate Gb of data, hundreds of graphs...

The reason people who have bought them generally perceive a difference is because they want to. The result is well explained by basic psychology.

The lack of any measurable difference (outside that expected from very simple resistive elements) is easily explained by physics.

The motivation for the secrecy and obfuscation of the developer and lack of any data that confirms an audible effect is explained by commercial imperative and hubris of the developer and the unquestioning acceptance by poorly informed purchasers (see the first point above).

Occam's Razor applied judiciously gives you the most probable real explanation for the whole sorry tawdry affair.
