There will ways be those who wish to believe a magic ingredient will provide a quick fix.
Having said that, I've indulged in a little snake oil now and then to satisfy my curiosity empirically (rarely trust hearsay evidence), but I knew the odds going in.
As an aside, my golden eared friend gifted me VA dc blocker, and it really works!

I have used a CRT deguassing wand in the past to demag an integrated amp main pcb..
There was a subtle change in sound, but my testing was not rigorous at the time.
I have just ordered a new deguassing wand and will try some experiments and measure changes if possible.

I remember when I asked Bruno Putzeys to do some cable distortion measurements in order to check the results of John Curl who had been claiming to have measured diodes in the wires.
Even though Bruno was measuring some 25dB below where John was able to see, no sign of the distortion products John was getting in his measurements was evident.
Charles dismissed Bruno's measurements, saying he seriously doubted that his Audio Precision System Two was capable of doing the same measurements that John was doing (by that he meant capable of notching out the test signal's fundamental before doing the spectral analysis of the residual).
He said he'd owned a System One for ten years and he was damned sure it wasn't capable of it.
I moseyed over to Audio Precision's website, grabbed the System One manual and after perusing it for a few minutes, found that indeed even Charles' System One could do it.
Ten years with the thing and he never bothered to read the manual.

Er wouldn't sending an a.c. signal through the equipment de-magnetise it.
PCB's I know don't magnetise as I have done some for MRI scanners, the components have to be carefully chosen, but then the field strength is a bit more extreme than normal.
I certainly would be wary of waving a degaussing wand around IC's etc. who knows what nasty voltages could build up.
An interesting thought, magnetism seems bad and this CD will remove it from your cables even (maybe because it an AC signal similar to music) yet not long ago on another thread we were discussing the benefits of magnetic cables that speed the signal through the inter-connect. I'm getting a little puzzled, how would you handle these with this CD, and if you play it backwards does it actually magnetise your gear....

I have an older Sheffield burn in cd, with music and testing, as well as sequenced degaussing tones recorded on it.
Bought it when I had some pretty decent Arcam Alpha 9's feeding some Tannoy Definition 700's.
Never could hear a before/ after difference, through the following Anthem, Carver, Musical Fidelity, Naim, and now various tube amps feeding several home made speakers.
Or maybe I can listen, but not hear.

Peter Aczel has every right to expose snake oil and the people that promote it. Someone has to or people might take products like Bybee etc seriously, eventually you wind up with a world full of only crap. Badmouth....please.
Maybe you should wiggle your wand over the cable constantly for an enhanced sensation.
If you wiggled your wand over your wand you might get an enhanced sensation, I haven't tried this....yet.

Darn. I need top add counterweights to my TV cable lift I am building. The garage door opener does not have the torque. 70 Lb TV plus the cross panel and hangers. About 80 Lbs. Hmm. I wonder what I could do with pneumatics?
