But if I built one of each of the same tuning, I'd expect to only hear a difference based more on stuffing density than box shape with the 'nod' SQ-wise going to the Metronome.
Thanks GM, I will surf to find some starting points and then play with the simulator. Is this a good starting point for the a11ms I've been suggested to buy? The Metronome

Your call........ both are suitable for vented specs drivers. I'm a major league MLTL fan going on 57 yrs now for its bang/buck performance, ease of design/build, while a quadratic taper yields a much more interesting/pleasing visuals with a slightly different sonic signature due to how the driver interacts with its shape.
