I am a French Canadian from Montreal, Quebec.....
Salut Guy, d'un autre montréalais en Asie!
I think you should post your hello in the Introductions area of the forum though.

Alvipet,
All BMR setup? And is that a "spiral port" at the back?
Yes, there were used Tectonic Elements TEBM65 + Tectonic Elements TEBM35C10 drivers and spiral port at the back also. The speakers are very smooth and comfortable in sound.
now, that there's how you paint MDF - use several layers of a textured product, and turn the glue joints into an aesthetic detail
and as Zia asked, do tell more re the interesting (aperiodic?) vents

It's been a while since I had my speakers out.
Seems that I have to go through a Separation from the wife to get back to enjoy my sounds. Fe126"s, DIY RIAA pre-amp to a standard KFC amp (slightly harsh), but still sweet sounds, chilling in the new apartment.
Gotto build my fe206's in a big box now. Thinking of some karlsons.

Bonjour perceval.
J'ai déjà corrigé mon erreur.
May I ask where in Montréal are you or were you living.
I was on the corner or l'Assomption and Beaubien
(Rosemont La petite patrie)
Now, for the same price, may I ask where in Asia are you ?
A la prochaine.

Looks like you were able to retain all your toys! Cool!
New beginnings! Enjoy!
Hi Curlycat,
that's what I acll a really nice speaker an speaker cabinet.
Today, they might do something similar,
but to me, not nice like this one.
I love vintage stuff, when the audio manufacturers
knew how to make nice ans sturdy stuff.

My first DIY Open-Baffle project as second main system temporary in parents' living room..,would be soon put together in my stereo room with JMR speaker...

Zebra Sub-Sats
This is my third speaker build. It is a 2.1 sub-sat configuration that I'm using in my bedroom, with the sats mounted on the walls.
The sub has a Tymphany 5 1/4" subwoofer driver, with two matching passive radiators in a sealed enclosure. It has a 5 liter volume.
The sats use a 4" 'point source' Dayton Audio full-range driver with additional 3/4" Dayton tweeters.
I taught myself how to veneer specifically for speaker building and these enclosures use 3/4" MDF for the sub and 1/2" MDF for the sats with African Zebrawood veneer.
The sound is really good for classical music and vocal oriented music (like folk music), but they aren't the best for rock as things get a little muddy and strained. Overall though, I'm pleased how they turned out.

fyl0206,
Quite the setup you got there! Speakers and audio gear dwarfing the TV... 🙂
Yeah, that's how it should be......wish my parents living room had looked like that!!
Dayton PS95 speaker bar
My first speaker bar build, using Dayton PS95 fullrange drivers, ported to around 72hz on the left and right channel and 85hz on the center - which has dual ports for cosmetic purposes.
