Thought you guys might like some close ups. Its off my phone so quality isn't the best but its pretty good. The other pics were from my phone too
The stuff has its ups and downs. Its really easy to work with and cut. It bends very easily which was good for this app. It also does not like glue, at all. It will work with contact cement I hear. I used wood glue and its a very tight pressure fit, this holds it quite well, the glue doesn't so much hold it on as it does just keep it from rattling.
The drivers are flush mounted, I just left about a millimeter of copper extending over the driver cutout and then bent it inward then dropped the driver in for a very smooth driver to copper transition, it looks very professional

Unless the copper delaminates cleanly, I'd certainly leave alone, but for any future projects, I'd suggest cold-pressing with a white PVA (melamine) glue which as the name implies is used for gluing melamine drawer boxes, or seal the wood substrate with shellac / polyurethane and use strips of 3M VHB tape - essentially the same film adhesive found on back of PSA thin metal appliques.

Made them a few months ago, they sound pretty dynamic with all those drivers. High end isn't fantastic which is to be expected, and they beam quite a lot. They still sound excellent and image well, and are great for loud music.
Sealed, Tang Band buyout Tang Band W3-881SI 3" Speaker 299-113 driver. Covering is fake leather style vinyl. I put about 25 hours in these. They are still in use for my small theater setup, along with my http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/subwoofers/205299-sofa-subwoofer.html
They look great in my opinion, they were the first ones I ever made so considering that I'd say not too bad. The previously posted Aikos still blow them out of the water in everything except dynamics.

Nice. I'd looked at those drivers and was thinking about a line array, but I'd use tweeters and do some shaping of the sound - a bigger project than I'm ready for right now, both on technical and financial grounds...

I'm reserving proper comments until they get some hours on them and i can then compare them to a few other things.
So all i'll say is that they don't embarrass themselves and have potential. At this point they don't do the 3D soundstage or bass of the treated and well-broken in EL70eN. And at one point they startled me as they went from qiet to loud.

not as low and impactful in the MarKen as the SuperPensil, or presumably any other well tuned MLTL - but that should come as no surprise
They have been playing 24/7 (except for a 5 hr power outage due to a rare thunderstorm, so should be approackinh the 800 hr mark.
