Hi Spencer
I would like to know if this converter board is compatible with a TDA 1543 😉
Best regards
Serge

Serge,
I have not tried TDA1543 before with it and cannot say it will really work. But if TDA1543 accept I2S format, then there is a I2S output format from my DIR9001 converter board.

Hi Spencer,
First, thanks for sharing your circuit and BOM (post#3).
May i ask why some wires aren't shown in top and bottom pcb files, for example:J1 pin2 to J2 pin2 etc...
Thanks again!

Spencer or anyone else,
I replaced the CS8414 in a DAC (CS4329) with this DIR9001 board. When I connect my digital source the output of the DAC is heavily distorted. I can get the distortion to go away by lowering the source level by around 8dB.
Why does the source need attenuated when using the DIR9001? Does it have anything to do with the CS4319 being 20-bit and my source being 24-bit?
Thanks

Yes you have a mis-match with your source data word length. Turning down the volume on your CD player (probably has a decimation process) is actually reducing the resolution of the data.

Thanks for the reply David. I have since figured out what the problem was. The DIR9001 output format was set for right-justified when it needed to be I2S.
Hello Spencer,
I've bought 3 kits and now I'd like to use them.
Do you know if I can use in this CS8412 operating modes:
Normal mode (M3=0) Format 0 out L/R 16-24 bits
Format 5 out L/R 16 bits LSBJ
Format 6 out L/R 18 bits LSBJ
Thanks
Have a nice day

Hi there............
I purchased one of these boards last Spring- and I now want to install it in my GCD-750 which uses the CS-8412.
I have attached a schematic.
Can anybody tell me whether or not I can do this before I go hacking into my player??
What settings do I need for the jumpers??
Thanks

See details of the converter board here.

Since it is not 100% fully compatible, you need to ensure you can handle the modification before you want to buy this. Of course I also heard of many success stories in the past.
Only assembly board is available now as I encounter some has problem in soldering the kits.
Price is $29 including shipping and paypal charges to worldwide.
