If you can unwind from your secondaries to get to 60-0-60, you can make a nice isolation transformer. If you ground the center tap, you can use it for your front end in balanced AC power setup. If you don't know much about it, ask Coulomb, he got me interested in that.

Did you buy that or do you just have the pic? I have a huge industrial power supply that I know nothing about. It is made by a company called lumax (whatever). No one would want to pay for the shipping, but I am often in the Milton-Burlington area if anyone is close. I will post pics tomarrow
The big Plitron is on loan from a dealer. I wanted to try it for balanced power operation, but somehow didn't have a chance to do it yet. If you have a big trafo you want to get rid of, post a pic and I might be interested. I'm located in Mississauga.
Geez you guys, the guy is offering a free trafo take it or leave it!🙄 It looks to be a ~500VA by the way.
Peter,
that is definitely too big to be a 1500VA. Over a half of that is for shielding and potting. I bet you are never going to have a problem with stray EM's from that bad boy. The shield-less 1500 VA they are selling in the surplus area has a form factor which is very different from that and it's about 8.5 in diam. x 3.5 height.

I just checked the code of this transformer: 7395-B2-00.
It is Low Noise Power Transformer for Solid State Amplifiers
1500VA Load Regulation Noise* NC Inrush** No Load Inrush**Full Load
4.5% 10 (db/1m) 8.5 A pk maximum 21.1 A pk maximum
Part Number Quad Output Dual Centertap Hi Current Single Centertap Hi Voltage Single Centertap

The rep didn't lie. The price is $597.56 CAD and it weighs 25kg.😉

Well here is that PSU I was talkin about
The thing has 5 transformers in it, 240 primaries on the unit
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

A few more pics
The two relays are 24V

Peter, you never cease to surprise. A record with The Specials. Nice.
Jason:
I'll take it, if you don't mind.
I live just down the coast in Vancouver.
I'll be happy to pay for shipping and perhaps send you a couple of other goodies for your trouble.

Hmm.
Perhaps I'll just make up a variety pack and send it out, rather than giving you a list of stuff and only letting you pick one. 🙂

postal code v3k3l3 to calculate shipping.
I estimated it to be about $9.00 by canada post ground - not too bad a tall.

Once something gets beyond a certain size it is REALLY CHEAP to send stuff by Canada Post in Canada.
