A quote from Carlos Santana on Leon Thomas:

"I was in a restaurant in New York with my wife and I went over to the jukebox and there was this record by Leon Thomas and just then I decided to look him up and see if he wanted to join the band. When I called him he said he had just had a dream about me.(my emphasis, KBK) I told him we were going on a tour of Japan and he said he'd always wanted to go to Japan, so he joined."

And that's the way it works, but it is entirely personal. One of the 50 billion nails in the lid of scientific materialism, surrounding the idea of linear temporality.

Any person who holds Nichola Tesla in low regards needs to seriously rethink the world we live in because of him and the influences he had on other more well known people like Bell.

I have been a little obsessed with his boundary layer turbines for a long time and stumbled across an interview with him.

“Not the aeroplane, the flying machine,” responded Dr. Tesla. “Now you have struck the point in which I am most deeply interested—the object toward which I have been devoting my energies for more than twenty years—the dream of my life. It was in seeking the means of making the perfect flying machine that I developed this engine.

“Twenty years ago I believed that I would be the first man to fly; that I was on the track of accomplishing what no one else was anywhere near reaching. I was working entirely in electricity then and did not realize that the gasoline engine was approaching a perfection that was going to make the aeroplane feasible. There is nothing new about the aeroplane but its engine, you know.

“What I was working on twenty years ago was the wireless transmission of electric power. My idea was a flying machine propelled by an electric motor, with power supplied from stations on the earth. I have not accomplished this as yet, but am confident that I will in time.

“When I found that I had been anticipated as to the flying machine, by men working in a different field, I began to study the problem from other angles, to regard it as a mechanical rather than an electrical problem. I felt certain there must be some means of obtaining power that was better than any now in use. And by vigorous use of my gray matter for a number of years, I grasped the possibilities of the principle of the viscosity and adhesion of fluids and conceived the mechanism of my engine. Now that I have it, my next step will be the perfect flying machine.”

“An aeroplane driven by your engine?” I asked.

“Not at all,” said Dr. Tesla. “The aeroplane is fatally defective. It is merely a toy—a sporting play-thing. It can never become commercially practical. It has fatal defects. One is the fact that when it encounters a downward current of air it is helpless. The “hole in the air” of which aviators speak is simply a downward current, and unless the aeroplane is high enough above the earth to move laterally but can do nothing but fall.

“There is no way of detecting these downward currents, no way of avoiding them, and therefore the aeroplane must always be subject to chance and its operator to the risk of fatal accident. Sportsmen will always take these chances, but as a business proposition the risk is too great.

“The flying machine of the future—my flying machine—will be heavier than air, but it will not be an aeroplane. It will have no wings. It will be substantial, solid, stable. You cannot have a stable airplane. The gyroscope can never be successfully applied to the airplane, for it would give a stability that would result in the machine being torn to pieces by the wind, just as the unprotected aeroplane on the ground is torn to pieces by a high wind.

“My flying machine will have neither wings nor propellers. You might see it on the ground and you would never guess that it was a flying machine. Yet it will be able to move at will through the air in any direction with perfect safety, higher speeds than have yet been reached, regardless of weather and oblivious of “holes in the air” or downward currents. It will ascend in such currents if desired. It can remain absolutely stationary in the air, even in a wind, for great length of time. Its lifting power will not depend upon any such delicate devices as the bird has to employ, but upon positive mechanical action.”

“You will get stability through gyroscopes?” I asked.

“Through gyroscopic action of my engine, assisted by some devices I am not yet prepared to talk about,” he replied.

“Powerful air currents that may be deflected at will, if produced by engines and compressors sufficiently light and powerful, might lift a heavy body off the ground and propel it through the air,” I ventured, wondering if I had grasped the inventor’s secret.

Dr. Tesla smiled an inscrutable smile.

“All I have to say on that point is that my airship will have neither gas bag, wings nor propellers,” he said. “It is the child of my dreams, the product of years of intense and painful toil and research. I am not going to talk about it any further. But whatever my airship may be, here at least is an engine that will do things that no other engine ever has done, and that is something tangible.”

Now if you want to learn about one of the first conspiracies, go find out what the US government did right after he died.

I have some ideas of my own, and am working my way their at my own pace (not free energy, but more efficient use) which is part of how I ended on this site to learn the electronics I need. More than that I am not prepared to divulge, not out of capitalistic ideals, but plainly because I don't want to get killed.

"A nice ideal, but modern life/science is so far beyond the ability of all but a tiny minority to understand - that it soon becomes impossible.
Skeptism is a double edged sword which can cut you off from information as well as protect you from BS. As I said before a scientific skeptic can be unwilling to look into and consider certain areas of knowledge." Shoog

I agree, that is why I think that those without the background or ability should back off and stick with what they know or are willing and able to learn. We all must economically utilise our time - scientist or not. Since science is performed by those who can get funding, the ideas for investigation must be of interest to those who fund. A scientist has a finite amount of time to pursue his quest and must get funding at every step. Good ones will only look at ideas that appears to lead to something. Of course there is a bit of dither in the system because not all scientist are skillful practitioners and not all scientists are skillful salesman. But, the whole process of science is based on checks and balances and corrections as new discoveries are made or errors are found. Again there is dither in this part of the system as well, because scientists are people too, and it can be difficult to let go of a favorite bad idea. This is the exact opposite of dogma, religion and Wacky BS - that is to say - believe despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

CO2 and such

The whole global warming argument is inarguably political... just as the "let's get rid of Freon" back in the 80's and 90's.

There are so many assumptions and questionable hypotheses built in to "global weather modeling" that one cannot even be sure the world is warming up any more than it has in the past. All of the data before the mid 1800's is circumstantially indirect... be it CO2 levels, temperature measurements, etc.. etc. Given the time frame of geothermal events, I highly doubt that 30 year (or 300 year for that matter) variations in the earths climate represent any sort of "trend" notwithstanding Al Gore.

I recall in several environmental science graduate courses taken in the 70's, absolute statements being made about the depletion of all sorts of natural resources by the late '80s or at most the late 90's. (chromium, OIL, nickel, cobalt, etc... the list goes on. So what happened?

No one has yet measured the temperature of the earth systematically everywhere... only made mappings from sattelites of ocean temp averges and then extrapolated to some futile computer model of a chaotic system, where the researchers can't even define the boundaries of bifurcations, much less the bifurcatgions themsleves. What a pathetic excuse for "research"; heck the local weather conditions aren't reliably predicted 24 hours in advance, what makes one think we can accurately predict global temperature INCREASES of a couple of degrees. Answer is ... WE CAN'T. Yet, just such predictions are stated as proven fact in support of everything from rising tides to hurricanes to El Nino.

Unfortunately, the illiterate masses are all to gullible listening to Al Gore, Paul Ehrlich, etc. promulgate wildly incorrect theories as proven fact. But then, he DID invent the internet, right?

Theories are great.. let's just treat them for what they are, and stop promoting speculation as fact, as is done with the Freon ban, global warming, CO2, etc. After all, just because something hasn't happened doesn't mean that it will happen.

The dollar collapses - why, because china and japan decide to switch to the euro?
There really is a conspiracy theory - the US is only allowed to have its dollar at the current level because those two governments, holding a vast amount of it, do not want to damage their own industry.

Apparently they've manged to broker a stemming of the tide, for the time being:

Beijing, Dec 16: In a major breakthrough for China`s quest to acquire latest US nuclear energy technology, the two governments on Saturday signed an MoU which paves the way for the US-based Westinghouse Electric Co. to provide technology for four nuclear power units to be built in China.

As for the end of it all..

Why May 1st? If I go to Australia, or the indian ocean, and go way, way down there..... will I find an expiration date sticker?

Yet - I wonder about the Leo Wanta story.

Since science is performed by those who can get funding, the ideas for investigation must be of interest to those who fund

Having to go begging to people who have careers to protect. Who are in the position they are in because they are successful at the politics of science and people who by a process of natural selection tend to tow the party line.
Original thinkers have a huge hill of inertia to climb before they can get the funding to prove or disprove their theory.

This is the exact opposite of dogma, religion and Wacky BS - that is to say - believe despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Science has plenty of dogma. An example been the idea that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, and yet quantum entanglement "proves" otherwise. Dogmas may shift quicker in science, but they shift in every other field in which they exist. A student will be told certain things are proven in class, when infact all that can really be said is that they seem to fit the evidence at the moment. Science is limited by it instrumentation and by the minds of those who design experiments. Of course this is no argument for not using your rational powers of judgement and knowledge to sift the blatant BS form the "truth".

Its nice to think that conspiracies don't exist and that everyone plays by the rules, but thats as much BS as any wacko can come up with. Building a scientific rational box to live in blinds you to the chaos and confusion of the human world we live in, where most things are driven by politics rather than rationality.

If you could have shown Mr. Tesla an artists rendering of this picture and asked him what he thought; he would have said only a crazy fool would build such an impossible machine.

Just goes to show that even great thinkers like Tesla can have flawed logic.

Whatever happened to the original topic?

Since the premise of the original thread was somewhat "blue sky" I figured anything having to do with energy is "on topic"... my bad...

however, since global warming is such a "hot"(sic) topic, there appears to be plenty of free energy floating around the atmosphere ready to be tapped by the greenhouse folks.. perhaps they can solve 2 problems with one fell swoop!

one can envision giant heat pipes inside cell phone towers sucking excess greenhouse heat out of the sky and powering the increasing numbers of mobile in-traffic cell phone users discussing all manner of important issues... :hot: 😎

Re Tesla and modern aircraft:

True enough, but that does not even remotely take away from the obvious fact that planes need a forward momentum (or a minimal amount of laminar flow) to maintin flight or that even the helicopter utilizes the same function..and that both are dangerous if a failure of this 'condtion' takes place. An obvious truth. Tesla was after a safer, better way, one that, after analysis of his comment, should not be thrown away in favour of the current existing idea of aircraft.

It is always wise to look for better solutions, even if the one in hand seems like it is the best.

And frankly, aircraft, as they exist, are definitely not a safe, or desireable condtion. They are merely the load we have been saddled with at this time, in order to get around the globe. Far, far, far from perfect.

Finding, or looking at a different method of propulsion as a method of moving humans around the globe is, of a critical nature, when takes all the points at hand, into account.

And if Mr. Tesla had a different method, I would not discount it. Not for a second.

As I've said, I don't know of a single time in the writings of Tesla directly from him, or based on remarks, where he was wrong on matters of physics. Not one single time.

A friend of mine, whom I do acoustics and mechanical isolation work with, will NOT speak in his inventiveness, whatsoever. To the point that I am forbidden to speak in any way of any of our efforts as they exist today in the realm of loudspeaker design and execution. This, for over ten years now.

I have spoken of them a few times (of minor, seeeming unimportant components), in minor ways, and each time, that point has been worked on by some astute and intelligent individual who was 'paying attention'. Each and every time, that point I spoke of has emerged on the market as a 'innovation' in the world of loudspeaker design and execution. What those points are, I will not relate here, as I don't need them to spread any further.

His point of silence was, "all an intelligent man ndeeds, is to be served notice of some sort that a given thing is possible, or exists..and he WILL figure it out. "

Best to leave them in total ignorance, and not even remotely aware or understanding that such a subject even exists.

This last point is the Heart and Soul of the inventive process. One who can, merely needs to know that a given thing is possible, and that person WILL figure it out.

After all..the first guy did.

The interesting things pouring out of alternate science circles and older texts of a ancedotal historical nature suggest and show some amazing feats of science from the past.

For example, I was just reading of a set of maps from very ancient times, culled from copies after the 'library of alexandria', showing the coastlines and mountains of South America to a degree that was far beyond the maps from two centuries later, by the Spaniards, etc.

We all now agree that Columbus was NOT first to North American soil. Not by a long shot-multiples were there before him. Does this trail ever end? Not so far!!! The maps were from about 1300 or so. These were made fom earlier originals..and they also showed Antarctica......before the icecaps formed on it. A perfect map of the mass of Antarctica..without ice. We only obtained that information from satellite work.

Many people held those maps for...tracking back now...millenia. Thousands of years.

This would suggest, obviously, some earlier group mapped the globe in it's entirety... thousands of years ago.

Just one item in hundreds..to thousands.... to support the fact of a greater technological level of existence and society existing on the globe far ealier than history would suggest, at this time. Of course, history is a very young 'science', one of the youngest out there at this time.

The archeological capacites of man, as he stands today, are quite infantile, to say the least. There is much to discover.

What does this have to do with 'over unity'? Everything. Overunity in the past, in the deep history of mankind, is thoroughly possible, and likely, through examining the records of the past, with an open mind.

And the direct logical indication is...The sciences involved are far less dificult, less complex, and less mechanistic than the primitive and convoluted methods of energy production we use today. Which is why, from this viewpoint we have today, they look like fantasy. They are merely a simpler method of doing such things, which we will eventually arrive at, like they did.

The trick is, which way do you pesonally turn you rmind, when it comes to this sort of stuff? What are your internal emotional underpinnings that make or break the situation for you? That either allow you to consider, to ponder, to sort and collate, and then discover as they did.......or not?

The very stupidity, audacity and egocentric insanity of modern man is like the misquito lying on it's back floating down the river, with a hard-on saying, "raise the drawbridge!" He is fool enough to think that this momeet that exists now, the one he exists in, is the be all end all of human existence. It flatly - is not. the sooner we get over that, the sooner we can get on to elevatng ourselves in some sort of more fundamentally clear headed manner.

No and no. You really ought to crack the books (and by that I mean stuff like Feynman, not comic book versions) and learn some actual physics before saying stuff like this.

I directly know of a man, who was a communications company owner and inventor, in the Ottawa valley area.

My Brother-in-law worked for him. This man trusted my Bro. He showed my Bro, directly, in person, a 300x FTL wireless communction system, that was sending packets of info in the terabit range. Directly, in person, the harware, the whole bloody mess.

That man, shortly afterward, gave my Bro some critical and personal information to hold onto, for safekeeping. The man in question was under deep scrutiny from many sources, as you may imagine. He used my bro, whom he had begun to know over the years of working with him, as depository of this critical information, as by bro is a very trustworthy and decent individual. Also, difficult to trace, my bro was a tech in the building, and why would the company owner associate with a single given tech? So the exchenge point within the building would obviously be difficult to trace. The inventor knew and spoke of how various governments and their internal groups were hot on obtaining his work and hard after him.

This inventor, suddenly came down with brain cancer, out of the blue, and in that time period, while ill, asked for the information to be handed back. My bro gave it to him. The man died, and everything he had and kept, was immediately ransaked, by CSIS (canadian CIA) and whomever.

Don't discount the stories.

My Bro, after that, was audited, randomly..by the offices of Revenue Canada (Canadian IRS), seven years in a row. His tax laywer was so mad when he found out about this, that after a few months of screaming at the government, obtained a signed letter from the offical offices of Revenue Canada, that my Bro cannot ever be audited again, for the rest of his life.

Don't discount the stories.

As you may imagine, I know from direct personal experience, that a suprising majority are true, or have enough elements of truth in them to be able to separate them from the bull stories.

All one has to do, is understand the pattern of the situation(s), and it can (begin to) be discenred. The biggest thing one can do, is turn around and face the change of the internal situation..which is to begin taking it all seriously, and looking at it from that standpoint. Then it will all slowly become clear. It's like learning a completely foreign language from scratch-very confusing and headache producing at first. But over time, it slowly becomes workable and clear.

What does this have to do with 'over unity'? Everything. It's part and parcel of the situation surrounding it, which is your own unwillingness to open your mind and properly consider the entire plethora of information and potentialities in front of you, instead of leaning on and clinging to the 'thing you already know'.

Like the monkey swinging to the next tree, you have to release your hold on the last vine or branch..and sometimes..you even have to be in free fall for a while. Without that basic understanding, you will never leave the first tree.

For those with an ounce of intellignce and understanding about how the world actually works, they may recognise the fact that I have, without their permision, endangerd the lives and livelihoods of two people I know in this thread alone, in order to attempt to illuminate a few folks who are overtly and unessessarily stubborn.

People want proof, and they want it from a position of ignorance of how the world actually works, not understanding what they ask for. A standard human condition, but it can be gotten past, many people have. Please realize such. Thank you.

Once the mass if 'aware' folk is great enough, we can be past this moment, this particular 'silent war'. But at this time, the war is still on and in full swing. The front line is a dangerous place to be.

And when this one ends in the indeteminate and spotty way it exists and began, the next one will be well in swing. As is the usual state of mankind, on all of its given levels.

I think the aircraft just illustrated how we can sometimes trip over our own foresightedness, the plane part was easy, the engine was te trick. He looked for a more esoteric way to propel the plane with remote power stations - and Tesla very seldomly made mistakes of reasoning... only stupid mistakes like waiting too long while more obvious answers were at hand, like the petrol engine.

Now I'm afraid most people are confused by the many concepts Tesla dealt with, but mostly all revolved around alternateing resonances ... which is how he gave the world a handle on AC power.

I other words most of his inventions seemed to to follow as logical next steps to the previous... often using the first...

Anyhow, so Tesla woke up one morning and read about the Wright brothers' flight, and gave himself a massive kick in the pants.

But he was smart enough to realise that his boundary layer engines could be incorporated into conventional petrol engines as they can be driven by pulsed hot gas without destruction due to having no blades and only 1 moveing part. as oposed to a piston/crank/camshaft and gearbox friction losses in conventional engines.

He was one of the first men to predict that emissions from vehicles will become a problem more expensive to fix than prevent.

In those days petroleum companies were only iiterested in growing customer base and sales volume, something that only changed recently. We are convinced life can not be lived at a slower pace so we need the feuls to do stuff faster, get to more places. Also there are alot more people now, so demand has peaked meaning they are now in a position to sell you less gas for more money.

This is killing the world, poverty is a germ that is spreading and unless the first world has plans to exterminate the third, they will soon find the cancer in their backyard. In my country the price of beef for instance has gone up by 45%!!!!!!!!! just in the last year.

And the average expected lifespan for a man is in his mid 40's, probably down 10 years over the last decade alone.

What about the son of the Nigerian finance minister?

He definitely needs our help.

Oddly enough, the second last time I was at the post office, I witnessed a older couple frantically writing a check and getting it off in the mail, to Nigeria. It was sad, but I didn't have the heart or energy at that time to bother to try and intefere. The amount was not that great, and I hope they learn their lesson before they get dragged into it deeper.
