It was a logically considered guess... as it was a bit obvious that the thread and it's directions were er, possibly irking Sy at the time he switched his avatar. Randi seemed like an obvious choice.
Like when in a spot in the book 'Hitchiker's guide', Ford Prefect was upset. Very upset. He was humming a song, called 'Mad about the boy', but only the first note:"MAD". And he hummed it loudly and often. And he was peeved that no-one asked ...so he could tell them. 😀

Psychic considerations are not as simple as black and white. It is considered that they are mostly a hindbrain and non-concious related function, so concious and 'waking' control and realization of such, is limited and sporadic at best.
Times of high stress can bring it out in some people. And the interpretations of the data recieved, realized whatever, are also difficult and colored by the crossing from the unconcious to the concious mind and interpretation. Difficult and personal, for even the most accredited psychics who desire to and do work with science to attempt to understand the phenomena.
Which is why I say, and the entire group of similar folks with a bit of sense in them say: "The doorway is entirel personal, but the understanding imparted is truly universal." This can give science the fits, which is attempting to put everything in the physical-material sense of the world, and tends to accept no data as being truthful if this cannot be done or repeated, ad nauseam.
The essence of the point is that this cannot be done, at least at this time. This does not invalidate the effect or phenomenon, it merely makes it incredibly difficult and slippery for science to deal with. Understandable.
It will not go away either, as the bulk of humanity does belive in in it, either religiously (does no-one any favors) or casually..or even attempts to properly scientifically scrutinize it. Science seems to have it on the back burner..a very remote back burner, and is concentrating on other things. The problem is that the areas that cutting edge physics are attempting to go into, like dealing with action t a distance, and superstring theories, etc, surrounding this point, fall squarely into the lap of these sorts of psychic phenomena. A tough spot -- to be sure. Shrodigner, alternate futures, dimensions, etc..all fall into this catagory of psychic phenomena..and those involved in it..have known about and experienced these things in the casual and human sense.. for millenia.
They beg investigation, considering where physics is going, and where it is being taken. The two have something to teach one another, in a sheerly logical discourse, if the bridge can be gapped. This also seems to encompass the point of this thread, from the psychic's point of view. Or at least to me, who has dealt with and worked on that angle for many a year. The relation is clear to me, but difficult to put out there,as the language barrier is there, in terms of what another will accept, or understand..as reality.

The problem is that some in science and their views, do not seem to have an open enough attitude -- to consider. So, I try every way under the sun. From the humorous, to the offered flower and peace, to the sledgehammer. Whatever works. Try them all. Nobody is the same. Maybe something will get in.
