I would like your expert opinion on where I can get a finished First Watt F5. Unfortunately I have no time nor skill to build one... Europe would be preferable. I am looking for a solid build, balanced if possible. Please help!
The balanced version of the F5 is being Group Built under the F5x name as designed by EUVL.
I'd expect a completed stereo amplifier to cost well over £1000 for this DIY effort.
A PASS version could well be more than double that.

I would be interested in a second hand original, or a new one built by some credible maker. Anyway, I would be glad to consider any option to be honest...

Andrew, does this mean this project is actually being sold???
Where does your DIY expertise lie ?
Maybe someone could do the electronics side for you and leave you to build a nice cabinet for it.
In DIY guise you are looking at FAR LESS than £500 for an F5.
Probably even as low as £300 - this is just an estimate but they're not expensive to build.
Do you really need that balanced version ?
If you are using external equipment with RCA connections - then the answer is probably No.

The rest of the system is balanced CD->preamp->poweramp But I guess I'd live with an unbalanced amplifier. As far as my expertise goes... let's just say "forget it". I want a finished one... It's quite strange I can't seem to find any on the internet (finished)...
The problem with DIY is "personal taste".
Have a look at the finished projects part of Pass Diy.
If you could come up with a chassis (case) then I'm sure someone will build one for you.
Maybe someone could make it for me and suggest some case that would fit. I guess I could find someone to insert it properly here...
Now you are asking someone to make up your mind for you.
??????????????????
At least post a picture of what you would like it to look like.

The problem with Class A is HEAT.
That case would do the job certainly.
Do have a look at the Pass site though - you will see what we up against.
Also consider postage.
Posting a case, heatsinks and transformers back and forwards is EXPENSIVE.
OK you can obliviate some of that by having the bits sent to the builder, but you've still got to have them sent to you.
Surely there must be a fellow DIYer in Greece that will help you out.

Assuming that you buy that case and have it shipped to a builder.
The only real cost is about Euro 250 for the build.
Then it has to be shipped back to you - EXPENSIVE as it will now be heavy.

I would happily take it on but I've been honest about the costs involved.
Thank you for your offer...
In case we can make a case study and see the cost of it, including the shipping cost, it would help...
