we all know that M2 is made to RuleThem All
You should really hear the MoFo, if you haven't. I'm listening to both right now.
Not at the same time of course. 🙂 Really interesting listening.
Well, I'm a sissy trying to work out how to unsolder one of the jensens from the daughterboard it's in after my F6 met an untimely end... Any tips? This sissy needs a solution!
Edit: one of teabags ones GB for F6 Convertible Clone boards and to be clear the only issue with the build was the builder...

solder sucker and solder wick , plenty of luck , work fast (shortest time possible per pin/cycle)
use fat tip , only way for fast heat transfer
be gentle with tweezers , when wiggling pin in hole
only when you free up all pins with wiggling - try to pull xformer out

If you can get an alligator clip on the other side of the pin as a heat sink, it might help keep heat away. Doesn't look possible here though.
I don't think that's going to happen unfortunately! There's definitely not enough space there, but I'll give it a whirl without. Thanks to you both!
As I remember I used hot air to do the same as you intend to do. It worked without damaging the transformer.
I did actually give that a try, and had no success, although in fairness I may have given up early...

Use flux on the joints when you desolder, even when using a solder sucker. Its messy but works better than a dry joint.
Use flux...

You can also use low melt or low temp de-solder wire, flood the joints with it, it'll stay liquid longer.

Where in Sydney are you? I've got a vacuum desoldering gun. I can get it off the board for you.
