though, Idss range not exactly important (especially if higher) when JFets are externally biased ........ as here is the case - LTP is fed with CCS

no way, GR having muuuuuch lower range of Idss than is the case with any 271
luck with JFets - you have luck either buying them matched ............. or buying them in quantity, so you have a pool for matching
