A quick question regarding measuring the Vgs of the LU1014D. Do we need to make a schematic version of what NP posted on the original F3 build thread and also in the Jeff's doc uploaded in the google drive to test the Vgs or can we use something like this transistor tester ?
Thanks
Thanks
I normally use a tester like that for low-current input devices (such as 2SJ74s and 2SK170s). However, the battery can't source enough current to test at the range we want for output devices (such as the IRFP240 and IRFP9240).
The F3 is a funny beast in that it's single stage, so the LU is both the input device and the output device. But since it has to run a lot of current as the output device, the test rig is the way to go.
Cheers,
Jeff.
