First post, a woodworker needs a small sub

I opted for a classic TL with those Tang Band 6.5".
Worked out great, went on to bigger solutions. I know I have those 6.5" around somewhere... Hmmm...

That Anarchy TH could also be a good solution indeed, but i did not know that driver was availeble again. it could fit the space and go low on low volume, so perfectly fit for the OP's demand.

I didn't like the issues coming with TH in small systems though (phase, directivity, IMO dsp with FIR is almost a must), a sealed solution is most likely easier to integrate/adjust to the rest of the system.
TH has its uses, but perhaps not in the bedroom.

Those tiny woofers with big xmax are a bundle of fun, better to put them somewhere you can watch them work and just crank it up. 😀

FWIW, years ago I had exactly the solution for the usage situation that you're talking about. It was a 4th order bandpass system that I put together using two 6.5" drivers in an isobaric configuration. The bandpass alignment helped to keep distortion low, which made it even more difficult to identify where the bass was coming from.

Of course the drivers available these days are a bit better than what I had access to years ago. If I was going to aim for a similar solution today, I'd probably go for a decent low-tuned PR system based on one good 6.5" subwoofer driver and two PRs.

That PE low-profile subwoofer is a nice design, but only rated down to 40 Hz (and PE don't mention if this is -3dB, -6dB or -10dB from the passband).

Although I think the PE sub placed well would sound better under a bed. This one was suggested due to them being an EU company so local purchase.
