Hi SCD,

What I am selling are actually sp12's--much heavier and bigger alnico magnets than sp12b's Both of my units have cone issues--one has a cracked surround, and the other has a few wrinkles in the whizzer. But with some loving care, both could be serviceable, I believe.

$20 + shipping takes them both--far less than I paid, I'm sad to say.

Like I said, they're really heavy, so shipping to Canada won't be cheap. I estimate $100. If you have a US address I could ship to, it would obviously be a lot cheaper.

Hi Bill,

I'll buy those SP-12's. I have been looking for a match to my single for quite some time! I have sent you PM. Thanx!

Thanks for the fast payment. Your drivers are boxed up, and I hope to get a FedEx pickup this evening. I'll email you a tracking number ASAP.

I hope you enjoy those Corals. They're amazing performers and a vanishing breed.

Bill

p.s. I'd appreciate a note letting me know you got them okay, so I can rest easy.

According to the Dave (Planet10), who would know such things, these holey-basket corals are the best of the fe103a family.

I do have a few more pairs, but I wouldn't know how to get my hands on any more when these are gone.

What kind of alignment are you planning?

I will try them in a mjk OB using them with an alpha15a. I also have a .7 fostex recomended cabinet to try them in and also a pair of zigmahornets I built and if that's not enough I have a pair of pawo enclosures to try. Really llike the sound of the alpha in OB so will try that first.

I will use a passive line level 12db. high level crossover at 300 and bi amp with the alpha's . I will use a line level low pass at either 150 or 200 haven't decided yet. Haven't decided on what type of amp for the alpha yet either the rhythmik sub amp or perhaps just a small tripath maybe a 2020 based chip. Can't see spending 600 for 2 rhythmik's in this system. I would try 1 amp wired in parallel on the alpha's but don't know how that would effect the stereo.

Got a couple PM inquiries recently about the ALPS 6-gang pots.

Basically, they are a system of 3 20k ALPS log stereo pots sharing a shaft for 6 channels of closely matched simultaneous control. The attached motor allows you to add a remote control if you like. Great for multi-amp setups.

I've sold probably a dozen at $30ea. I'll let the few remaining go for $25ea., first come first served.

I'll take one of them.
