barakuda, I'd imagine you will have baffle step very very high (maybe -3db near 500hz, -6 at 250hz) assing it is an 8" roundish thing................
I'm still stuck wanting the 166e..............
Think the jordan is better above 200hz ?

What do you mean by 8" roundish thing?
The ball is 12", after fiberglasing it will be 32cm diameter. Do you think I will still have baffle step issues? I thought that round front is the best....
Danny
I think egg will be best, followed by the ball, then everything else, so yes, the ball is best.
You will have baffle step, it will be nice and smooth.
The 3db down baffle step formula is 4560/inchs wide, so I'd expect -3db near 380hz and -6 near 190hz. You may only be 3-4db down near 190hz depending on how close to a wall, but backing up to a window I was textbook baffle step with the front box edge 21" from the wall/window.

the shape is not bad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is actually very, very good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much better than any box !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only issue with a ball is you get 1 stong standing wave inside due to all of the parallel distances.

Norman, it wont be a ball, the back will have similiar shape as the B&W mid enclosure, but still working on it. Probably it will have a vent as well.
