FCC sources

mouser.com or digikey.com

Both have illustrated online catalogs, and are willing to make a small sale. Use their index or search functions to find "Molex FFC".

You can get 0.5 mm or 1.0 mm pitch (you probably need 0.5) with many different numbers of traces. Get a cable and a vertical SMT connector. You will insert your existing cable end and the new cable end into the connector, and then push the lock in to hold them together. (Obviously, the conductor sides of the cables have to face each other.)

You can also get the same thing at some of the DIY projector stores, for more money.

This is what im dealing with...
I believe it is 20 connectors
I looked at digikey and mouser and was overwhelmed by the number of choices..
Will the one from lumenlab stores work? Does it come with a connector?

mouser FFC parts

It would be easier to count the metal contacts if you look at the other side of that FFC. Then you can tell which is a trace and which is not.

It is a 0.5 mm pitch FFC. Assuming it has 20 traces, then you need these to make one 6" extender:

Mouser#..........Description.............................Cost
538-52559-2092...20 circuit vertical SMT ZIF socket.....$1.48
538-21020-0215...20 circuit FFC Jumper 6"...............$3.03

I have the May-July catalog, and they are on page 963. If you want to buy them from someplace else, the last 9 digits of the Mouser number = the Molex part number.
