Ambiophonics
In my opinion, stereophonic crosstalk is the #1 offender of a loudspeaker system's ability to capture realism.

I really like this post by Tom Danley:

Something worthwhile to think about.

I can't believe this hasn't been linked. AllenB's instructions are brilliantly lucid, simple and logical.

This thread on cabinet sound is shaping up to be one of my favorites, with some solid research and references:

Here's a nice little thread for beginners on "How Not to Blow Up Your Amp" or " Why your xo impedance is so low".

Ground plane measurements
Measuring Response: How close is close enough to anechoic?
Bikinpunk's thread is, more or less, the definitive thread on ground plane testing. He provides enough detail and photos that anyone can duplicate his excellent results.

FPGraphTracer is a powerful tool for converting plots into *.frd and *.zma files. It is getting harder to find. Members have preserved it here, with the instructions... This thread also offers help on using the software.

7 years have passed and I just as much love the discussion of DBA by Nils and Earl around this https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/any-controlled-directivity-diys.280249/page-3 page
If you ever wondered what's the difference in SOUND of a speaker with or without waveguide - read here: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/purifi-waveguide-project.394174/post-7404653
hifijim describes exactly how sound perception should change with distance and directivity. Always good when theory and experience are close together 🤓
tmuikku also has a few good ideas and there is a link about basic principles of listening room designs: https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/sos-guide-control-room-design

This thread started by hifijim goes through many important aspects of loudspeaker design. Driver properties and selection, driver placement, cabinet dimensions and contour etc. But not passive xo design because speakers will be active, which is very popular, rational and modern way to do.

I particulary liked this one for the educational and effort of clarity as well as the "filter without measurement" both in the sticky section.
