I just bought a pair of BW 601, i'm really a newbie on audio, i decided to install a 5.1 (TR NX474, LCR60 and 2 603 S3 in front,and 2 601 in the back).
And it seems that one of the tweeter doenst work.
what part would be in cause ?
Thank you very much for your help,I am really saddened, this last purchase was supposed to complete my entire setup.

Hello Galou, to finish I took everything apart measured the resistance of my tweeter (=Overloaded), I took apart the tweeter and noticed that the two wires of the voice coil was cut, I reconnected it with two strands of copper. unfortunately I did it a little like a wild one (no soldering iron, just a lighter). But it works, and thanks to this forum that has given me the energy to do this repair, I think now I will try to improve them, I have seen here, polymer history etc....
Would anyone have any idea what to start with to improve my speakers (different models higher in the discussion thread), I can more or less manage with my ten fingers, so don't be afraid to suggest things to me.
If you want maximum performance for your money, sell them and buy better speakers. If you just want to have fun, you could look at the crossover. For example, B&W Bowers Wilkins DM 601-S3 Crossover Upgrade for Better Midrange Perfoprmance.
I had a pair of 601-s3's they are pretty good but lack in the mid-range. Have a look on e-bay for 683's they are much much better.
Before considering how to improve it, why not sit back and enjoy your now fully working 5.1 system for a while? 😉. . . don't be afraid to suggest things to me.
+1 for Galu, a wise man 🙂
I'm going to start with that, because I don't really want to start dismantling my 603 and LCR60. and the 601s are just for the rear (they're a little big, but it's a start) so maybe for now there's no need to improve.
