F5 power amplifier

I better say something about diy hifi so they don't moderate that.

Ummm....

Power Supply question for the Fx series of amplifiers:

the .0033 line cap between the thermistors is uF or F in value? I bought 3300uF caps for this....do I need new ones?

Best,

Hi guys,

Happy to tell you that 'We' are really surprise with the result. It sounds so sweet and detail on the whole spectrum, the mids and highs are enlightened after the change to MUR860. It sounds more open and vivid, but still maintaining lush and smooth with no edge. This diodes really did the tricks and give all the good ears a brand new picture to SS amp. It's almost 90% close to my 2A3 Pse and just lost a bit in thickness on body, but it won on the lower end punchy. Patricia Barber in Paris, track 8 - all notes jumped out from my speaker into your face, especially the drum it kicked you on every beat.

I've my F5 bias upped to 1.5A ( 0.705v across 0.47r ) and it obviously sounds better and thicker, but I don't know if I could lift the bias to 1.8 without hurting the other parts. The Mosfets are sitting at 70C, and the heatsink, still kind of cool, is at 42C.

EUVL-

About a month ago I said I would post some pictures of sqaure wave response for my clydesdale F5 driven into a reactive load. I am finally in a position to be able to do that.

What do you use as your reactive load? I have a large selection of speaker inductors, caps, and resistors on hand, so I should be able to come up with whatever is recommended.
