F5 power amplifier

Thanks Papa!
We call Pope as Papa in Turkish. Do you also use that idiom for Pope?
Actually, I dont like the calculations too... So I think it would be better to use Low ESR 15+15Ks! But what do you think about the "general usage" ones? Do you think I can get the similar performance with the cheap ones like Nichicon LLS or Panasonic ECOS series?

To the best of my knowledge, BIG caps usually do NOT sound better, they are just tough
I would consider some smaller caps with solder leads to have higher SQ, and those big ones with screw terminal less

But I will say, to use multiple caps as small as 1500uf, that will be a lot of caps
I believe 40caps each channel was suggested, and I suppose would work
But again, it takes a lot of wire, which is no improvement
And besides, are those thin solder leads fit fore classA power

But thanks anyway
I had doubts whether multiple caps would change ripple handling
I thought it might remain that of a single cap, of those used

but I have had 40watt classA where supply caps got quite hot
I wont risk that again
But I was told it was due to amp oscillating
Others said it had to do with too high ESR

When I was young, we had a saying like " Is the Pope Catholic?" Kind of a reply to a question that does not really need an answer. Or at least the answer was "of coarse!"... As I grew older (some may disagree...) other phrases like " does a bear shee't in the woods?" became popular (caca, sheista, etc...). The original phrase seemed to be modified (no disrepect intended) to something like "does the Pope shee't in the woods?"
We must be on the cusp of a new phrase here... Can the Pope make an amp???

What do you think of using bigger electrolytics, but wire them parallel with 0,1 uF Mica Metal Foil Caps. Quite expensive but what about increased rapidness? Experiences?

I really hate that

Been there, done that
I try not to blend too much different stuff
I dont think its good to do that
Well, in some places in amp curcuit it cannot be avoided

Many years since I did so
Thought it did sound better with small film caps
I was told exactly what you suggest

And when I removed them again, it sounded even better :spin:

Also remember when I had been convinced by some tube guys to buy new special and expencive MIT film caps
Well, they didnt last long
Obviously no fancy stuff works fore me 😀
Tweaking?
No way
I choose what I think will sound good, and use it
So, ofcourse it sounds good, so why change anything 🙂
