the ones I have seen are 16mm, either from fisher electronic or birmigham aluminium.
much check prices!

okei. thats brutal😀 and not cheep.
i guess fisher is the best choise, regarding shipping cost. i cheched from birmigam too. and it was allmost 500£ in shipping😱 but that was twice as much heatsinks.
heatsinks which will have around .15/.20 w/c. This will allow to heavy bias the mosfets.
Not a smart choice.
For a 0.15C/W heatsink, you're better off with 8 output devices.
For 0.20C/W, 6 power MOSFETs.
0.15C/W and 2 pairs is a good choice with temperatures higher than 35C in the summer, 0.20C/W for up to 35C in Lisboa.

why not? say 30W pr device.
4 devices x 30W = 120W
20C above ambient = 20/120=0.16C/W
sink temp 45C ish
A heatsink at 45C is bad economics.
A 0.15C/W heatsink is very very expensive, vertical MOSFETs are dirt cheap.

I do dig the sink size problem but Papa said they sound beter at hi bias
I got TO 220 pulling 40 W since last August with no problems
so one can have 4 at 30 W or 3 at 40 W.
If sink size is not enoug stick a fan on it
If you do not want a fan buid 2 and go balanced or do not build the thing
Same sayd that one end up with 10K worth of amplifier and I can only agree with it and keep this in mind.
Why one need a 100W amplifier I got tumy tumping Bass with 3 V out?
May reason is that I am only Human also gredy Boyz I not going to complain about litle (biG) snags.
Or to put it another way do you want a Car with 300 Hp do not nag about price of petroll.
For the "normal" F5 with 2 output devices the recomended heatsink is 0.3W/C per channel, so my very simple calculation was that for using 4 output devices I would need half to have the same bias per device. I could use a bit less bias and go with .2W/C heatsinks though.

120euros including P&P to the UK
if you like the 400 tall 60 Euros each + P&P if you like 600 wide that wuld be
24 inches in pints they just weld 2 togheter for 36 they weld 3 and cut to any lenght you like.
Best of hall they got the potato chip curly fins

say 25c above ambient. but maybe
100C die temperature, spending loads of cash on a 0.15C/W heatsink, saving a few bucks on output devices.
0.25C/W heatsink at 55C (25C ambient) makes 120W.
3 pair output devices, die temperature a little over 80C.
Price difference between 0.25C/W and 0.15C/W is staggering.

you can do twice the bias with 0.20c/W
30W pr device = 4x30W=120W
25c above ambient = 25/120=0.20
if your ambient temp is not over 25c, you have some to go on.

That's a great price, I got a quote from fisher of 150euros each heatisnk of 400x200x80, without shipping. must see into those italian ones.
The price they quoted was 1/3 of same stuff from Birmingham aluminium
And when I said same they look exactley the very same I wonder where Birmingam aluminium make them.
Any help talking with them just let me know

I know of modushop, their 200x200x40 have .28C/W and each side has 2 of those. about 300€ plus shipping for the whole case, which is not that bad for a complete case.
Yess again prety good for the money
I am using a pesante dissipante for the power suply box
The enclosure for the my monoblocks is Just same 20X20 mm alu bar sink perforated mesh and a piece of granite tile cost about £30

Just to give you flavour of what a CPU fan can do
I was matching a batch of FQP19N20 yesterday
I am using a CPU fan to keep the cooper plate at 50C
I am matching them at 2A 24V and taking VGS reading when the sink settles at 50 C
My maths tell me 48W the fan runs at about 30 %
