F3 and F4 Clone PCB Reissue group buy, also F5 PCBs

I have a request.... it says a lot about my abilities!! Could someone point me to a BOM for both the F3 and F5 where the parts numbering matches these boards that Peter is doing. I think such a list would be really really helpful to loads who will build these amps.

If none exists, maybe someone could even post in the thread here a BOM for each. If someone else wanted to do the same for a PS for each, that would be great too.

I know the info is out there, but because there are 3 different boards going at the moment for the F5, it gets confusing keeping track of whats what.

I know its a spoonfeeding request, I know, :ashamed:

please help!

Untill you pay, no trouble at all, but I see slow shift from F4 to F5 going on😉

Indeed. There used to be 104 orders for F4.

I would say another thing - make enough off F5 to cover unpaid F4's 😉

For the deadbeats - I'll post current Wiki here to hunt down individually.

One thing we must settle on the F3 is if the IRFP240's need to be matched....I don't think so.

tech-diy.com sells F5 kits. a relative bom is listed there.
All PS need 4 caps from 15000uf to 470000uf. F4 and F5 do 8 .47ohm 3Watt resistors and 2 2.2k 3W bleeders.

I recommend Mills MRA-5 resistors for 3W resistors as they are 1% in tolerance (and really 5 watts dissapation). The Panasonics are 5%, but work fine here. I can send a load of panasonics out for kit builders in Europe or asia if that helps.

If someone wants to match some Fairchild IRFP9240's for F4's, I would help purchase and dispurse them. They are recommended by Nelson. Any IRFP240 matched is fine for F4.

Mike

Peter - thanks for clarifying....

mithomas (and anyone else) - I saw that tech-diy had them, but if you look at his kit he only lists Q1 -Q4 (IIRC) whereas Peters boards have Q6 and Q7 as well. Now I haven't gone and looked at the service manuals, but thats the kind of thing I mean.....

I need to hit the hay now..... but maybe tomorrow night I will post up something and maybe someone would run their eyes over it.

See, I will order from mouser - really even with shipping they are cheapest - but it takes a few weeks to get here and if I've missed out on something/wrong part, its a huge PITA to get it locally, or else another mouser order to correct the problem.....

thanks to everyone for this. My little mini-aleph sounds lovely, so I'm pretty excited to hear what these would sound like. Would similar heatsinks to what you would need for a mini-aleph do the job for these amps?

time for zzzzzzzzzz

Fran,

Well, that's for two deductive reasons.

1- ZTX transistors are available via mouser or digikey - but he sells them in in small signal section

2- the other reason IS PETE's QFET LABELING IS WRONG. the output IFRP's are mislabled. Q4 should be Q3- Q7 is Q4. OOPS!:checked: :checked: :checked: He is still the man of course for doing the group buy, and has likely forgot more about audio than I'll ever know.

Tech-diy potentionmeters and .47 ohms may not fit - the pots P1 and P2 will need to be 3296W's to fit.

😀 😀 😀

The F5 layout is more or less finalized (see attachment, if you spot any inconsistencies, let me know).

I'm placing the order tonight, and if you wish, you can start sending payments.

The procedure is exactly the same as with other boards, this time however, my cost is lower and excess funds will be donated to the forum, as well I'll try to arrange a nice present for Nelson :santa2:

The amp board has a scoring line and is good for two channels.

The matching supply is the same as for F4 amp, but if you didn't order one yet, mark all new orders as F5 PS.

A single F5 PS board, providing symmetrical voltage, is good for stereo setup only, you need two of those for dual mono.

Prices below include shipping and handling:

F5 amp board $15
F5 PS board $15

Prices in USD, paypal payment to my e-mail address posted here: http://audiosector.com/contact.asp

All boards will be shipped by airmail, with no tracking and no insurance and I cannot assume responsibility for lost packages. If you need insurance, please add $7 to your order.

F5 one channel layout pictured below, output devices spacing exactly as with F4 so the boards will be interchangable.
