I am going to make a subwoofer box for myself which will be made on assumptions so I was thinking that will it be a good idea to have a external port that will stay outside the enclosure. I want to do this so that it is easier to try different sized ports without opening the enclosure time after time and once I get my desired results I will add the final choice of port inside the box? Please give your thoughts on this.!!!!
Using a completely external port is no problem at all. It might look a bit strange but that is for you to decide.
Go for it.
Go for it.
You would then have to rebuild the box to a larger volume to account for the internal space the port occupies.I want to do this so that it is easier to try different sized ports without opening the enclosure time after time and once I get my desired results I will add the final choice of port inside the box?

Or lay a few bricks in the bottom of the enclosure while the port is external.
Remove bricks once you find a suitable length of port. It might not be excat, but it is usually close enough. Half a liter of air more or less is usually not noticable.
