hi
does anyone have experience with IR4302 chips?
IR4302M - Infineon Technologies
looks like a IRS2092 + internal MOSFETs
the IR4302 is a dual type that can used in BTL mode with single supply which makes this chip more interestant.
at the moment i planned a amplifier based on TPA3255 ...
but a dual mono build of IR4302 is interestant too

I have been trying to work with the IR4301 in a single supply full bridge configuration (two IC's) I haven't got it working yet though (didn't work straight away and I have been busy). I have also assumed that its IRS2092+FETs. The datasheet isn't very good and I found I had to look at all the example IRDAUAMPs and the application notes before I had a clue how to design around it. Even then some things are quite unclear.
I can share some info on my board(s) later but its a hybrid of aluminum PCBs and a dual layer carrier board. This didn't work very well (hard to solder the alu pcb to dual layer PCB) so I would recommend a 4 layer PCB, possibly thinned (<1.6mm) with high density thermal vias.

Hi
Thanks for your information...
That was also my Plan to use a good IRS Layout
But the Main question is
Which one should be Sound "better"
TPA with PFFB or dual IR4302
Both in BTL and single supply
Both are powerfull and more than i really need.
I have also a Plan B ...
2x TPA3118 ... These parts are Here .. unsed

I ordered a housing and i have 16x 20cm Space
For the Power amplifier
I prefer a dual mono like configuration.
So IR4302 ist a better choice.
My China BRZHIFI TPA3255 is now repaired and works very very good with some modifications.
Its hard to chose a final solution.
Input is ready on extra PCB and will be the same in all configurations
- BT Module with aptX HD /LL
- Line in / aux in
- OPA1656 Input Buffer
- PGA2310 Volume control
- gyrator based Tone control ( Bass, treble -> shelving Filter)
- switchable Nelson Pass H2 generator
- OPA1632 Output Driver to power amp

Here is a picture of my partially populated dual IR4301 prototype. The aim was to allow greater power dissipation through use of ALU board for the IR4301 which ASIK should allow up to around 500/250W 4/8 ohm when operating them in full bridge. However soldering the alu boards to the 'carrier' board is a total pain, I had to use a 80W metcal station and it was still tricky. If this prototype works I will do another using a 4 layer board and thermal vias instead to the get the heat out. My main aim is battery powered PA so maximizing power output is very important.
In terms of sound I doubt they will sound very different but TPA3255 with a good PFFB implementation has very nice measurements.

Thanks.
Looks good
My plan was to use one ir4302 in BTL Mode for each Channel.
And now i have a question..
Which will sound better
A irs2092 should sound "tubier" in Most configurations.
TPA ist working very good, i know...
.. hmpf...
If possible i will do both..
A TPA and a IR Variant..
