Bit of an update. I never got around to post those results, but oh well, they still sound nice 🙂
The speakers have been in almost daily use for half an year, and here are my conclusions:
1) Bass is excellent. Ripoles corrected with the Dirac are one of the best bass I've heard even though my room is far from optimal either for Ripole or bass production in general. Very dynamic. Might have something to do with the TDA8933 which has been commented to have very good macro dynamics.
2) Upper miss and highs are good. Single source sounds very nice and creates a good sound field. With 10F you don't really need a tweet, it goes to 18kHz easy.
3) Upper bass / Low mids are the weak point. I can get this system to measure flat / whatever curve I want from 20-18kHz, but it always seems the 10F is just too small to produce satisfactory upper bass. The singers lack a bit of "chestiness". I tried crossing subwoofers higher but sounded unnatural.
Ways to fix the weak point:
1) EQ more upper bass. This is what I'm doing currently. Pushes the distortion a bit but manageable with my listening levels.
2) Add helper midwoofer. I bought a second-hand pair of 22W/8534, and have been playing around with the idea of adding these to the mix. If I add 4x 28cm spheres to the towers, they will produce around 27l enclosure for the woofs. Would be easy to set 1st order XO around 300-600 Hz and time-align with 10F by moving bowls back and forth. Perfect transient response, etc. Vandersteen style.
3) ???? Suggestions are welcome.

Hello Mayuri,
Can you please describe how you EQ the bass section?
Near field measurement, then EQ to have it flat nearfield, then listening position measurement, then edit the previous EQ?
I have OB with 18" and did some EQ but I have the feeling I am not getting the best out of them. I only use IIR filters.
Thanks!

Hello arcgotic! My bass section amplifiers are 36dB sensitive, whilst FR section is only 23,6dB sensitive. So my EQ is mainly cutting down levels. With Ripole, bass has about -14dB cut from 20Hz to 40Hz. After that it has just peak filters to bring room modes and Ripole boost back to level. I cheated and used the DDRC-24 which has the Dirac room correction to bring the most out of the bass section.
I see. Can you post the whole settings for the bass please? Just want to see what a room correction system outputs (how many PEQ, min max Q, stuff like that). I am just curious. Thanks!
