You can probably set each channel to play left or right. Set them both to left, or both to right for mono. Looks like maybe registers 64 and 65, which it says applies to PCM.

Yes, that's right. Which registers for the es9039q2m can this be done? I didn't find them.. Thanks for the hint about 64 65.. I'll try it.

Again, probably registers 64 and 65, plus what it says on pages 22-26 of the data sheet. Basically assign the channels as you would assign TDM of the same number of bits per channel as for standard PCM. May require some experimentation and or to contact a distributor to ask for clarification.
