Thank you for gerbers, i will research it!

understand, i dont use it

DAC boards need to be at least 4-layer. That was even true for best performance with 16-bit dacs.

SBC i2s -> ADAU i2s -> DAC

yes, SBC i2s configured to 96kHz

If coming from SBC directly in I2S, the you probably use an I2S isolator chip to keep SBC ground noise out of your dac system. Also may not be any benefit to doing SRC to 96kHz in the SBC? if not needed it may only add some distortion for nothing?

Also, if you are going send your dac clock to ADAU, you should use a buffer otherwise clock quality almost certainly will be degraded at dac chip.

Another thing is what is the minimum clock frequency for the dac and or the ADAU to support 96kHz? Are they the same?
Maybe helpful to take a look at: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/phase-noise-in-ds-dacs.387862/post-7063953
Also, if ADAU is going to be doing the ASRC then you should turn off dac ASRC and run the dac chip synchronously with the ADAU output, right?
