ELEKIT TU-8900 2A3/300B (Stereophile Review Available NOW - July 2023 Edition)

I've read in this forum that the 8900 is best paired with the TU-8550, but I don't see it in the DIY Audio Store. Is the TU-8550 expected to be in stock any time soon?

I would go thru the TU-8550 upgrades threads as the pairing with the 8900 would be nice. I would call the sound signature as "Modern" and not like a Sunvalley Amp "Traditional Tube sound."

Has anybody tried the Jupiter silver foil vitamin-q yet I'm pretty interested in comparing them with the V-cutf I have at the moment.

I used these comet silver caps in TU-8600. AS i said the Comet is afforable but AN silver is AN silver.

Matching headphone impedance/volume levels.

simply removing the front panel and change the position of a
short pin.

On this picture, what is the impedance? Medium Low impedance? Having 8ohms headphones, should I move the short pin to the right?

Yes according to the manual you should move to far right
You should test Low Med too to see which setting is your taste

So, this jumper position is medium level for low impedance headphones, it seems. Are the jumpers like on the TU-8200R, where the jumpers select the fraction of the output, and the hi/low impedance selects the output transformer tap, except here impedance and level are combined into the jumpers?

From what I read, in the 8900 the headphone output is driven by the same tubes as the speaker output (as is the case in the 8200), so some things (like providing a load for the output transformer) have to be similar.
