But this TV tube Philips broad to the market in the 1960 is probably one of the best hifi tubes. Playing over G2 as the anode. Thanks Kees for sharing. Like you said with just a couple of components you can make an awsome sounding hi-end tube amplifier. I'll guess our ears are the best instrument for judging. It's not all about the theory. If it were we probably have less inventions. Anyway I will go back to listening and enjoy what 's it all about, DIY builds and music. CHEERS to you all.

Could you or KeesB share a schematic? I've been reading up on the PL519 amps, but the ECC85 direct coupling sounds even more tempting than the most recent iteration I found here: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/g2-as-anode-pl519-power-amplifier.385574/post-7828370

Hi Freded,

Thanks for asking. I see now you are refering to the schematic of one single PL519.
That is approx 3W per channel. 12W dissipation on g2.
That power is also quiet nice on the mentioned speakers.
But I must say that the extra punch, of the parallel singel ended (2xPL519) is really useful with the large open baffles that I run.
The extra current really moves the bass driver. Better match I would say.
