That's not what I suggested but it's only a suggestion and you're not required to try it.
What's the operating frequency of the 494 on pin 9 or 10?

sorry perry should have said, i have tried all your suggestions but no oscillation on 494
pin 9 and 10 measure 21khz when all removed
pin 9 and 10 measure 21khz when all removed
perry can i not just modify the supply to work like a conventional ps? i see that these switch the transformers to ground and not to positive
Hi Luigi, you're Italian I guess...
so you got some problems with that amp, let's see if I may give you any help: summing up you replaced tl494 and 2sc3206 (2) coded as Q46 & 47, and which other transistor have you replaced? you say the remote activator one... is it Q12 2sa1273y?
Have you checked R102? it is 820ohm and it is quite critical one...it becomes hot having the charge of the two sc3206 collectors... and may vary its resistance with time.
Also are other 4 resistors (R45 to 48) on pin 9 and 10 of 494 (closed vs. gnd) have you checked?

how hard can it possibly be to repair this stupid power supply issue? still having the same problem with this
